Protecting your capital is much more important than making money. Basically because if you lose your capital, making money is much harder. ''Missing the train'' vs. ''losing your money''. There are a lot of trains, but if your money is gone, it's over.

Wall Street pitched so-called quality stocks with high profitability and low debt, as a kind of insurance against whatever the economy might throw at you. Quality stocks have underperformed the S&P500 this year, My $200k portfolio is down by approximately 20 %, any recommendations to scale up my returns on investment

How are other people in the same market raking in over $450k gains within months, I'm really just confused at this point.

Inflation depreciates idle money. I'm in a privileged position to be able to save almost 65% of our net household income, as I placed it on safer investments. The key for us was not spending beyond our means. If you invest and have other sources of income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends. Got north of $200K in my portfolio as I bought a lot of dividend stocks before, I'm buying more now, and I will buy more when it drops further

The main problem is that most folks don’t care about anything other than football, Basketball and Music etc. They find it normal to take credit card debt which will cost them 20percent per year but considers it risky to invest their money and make 10percent or more per month. Learning to avoid high interest debt while also learning how to put your money to work for you by investing is a very powerful combo

Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $121k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

Great side hustle tips. One point though regarding the review videos; please don't encourage people to buy items (especially from small businesses selling on Amazon) just to review and return them. From a small business owner's perspective, it ends up costing us money because the profit margins are usually thin, we cover shipping to and from the customer and then we end up with a product we can't resell. You are basically taking money out of a small business owners pocket and they have no recourse. I never knew this until I saw the business side of things.

It's not that you're doing anything wrong; it's just that you don't have the knowledge to profit in a down market. The only individuals who may earn greatly during tumultuous times like these are experts with considerable knowledge who must have observed the 2008 catastrophe. Their whole skill set is based on trading long and short at the same time, using profit-driven strategies and reducing risk as a buffer against unavoidable downtrends, thus they are well-suited to do so.

My belief is that making a wise investment is a fantastic way to save money for the future as well as a way to generate passive income. Those who make poor mistakes early in life regret them later in life. But, if done alone, investing may be challenging and risky. For this reason, I suggest consulting experts for advice (financial advisors). The difficulty lies in effectively employing it, not just watching videos and reading investing books.

Regarding the trash can cleaning hustle, make sure you check with local ordinances about proper disposal of waste water. Also, keep in mind that you'll be on the hook for filtering the trash that rinses out of the cans as well. Credit score is not something used in all countries though. In France, they determine if you are eligible to get a loan (e.g., to buy a house) based on the ratio between your salary, your expenses and your savings. Basically, if every month you 'burn' all your money, you're perceived as riskier than someone earning less but consistently making deposits to a saving account. I feel in the US people tend to buy things they don't need with money they don't have... The only times I feel one should need a credit is when buying 'big' things (house, car, etc.). Not for a TV. I’m 26 with over 800 credit score, time was put into that to build it up by MYSTICFLIP

A note for the first side hustle. Waste management will send you a cease and desist letter if you are using their trashcan for your business because it's their property. We tried this business in my town but were immediately told to stop or be sued by water management.

No matter what type of business you decide to start, you will always need a good social media presence. You will use it to either promote your product/service directly, or as a place for sharing good content. In both cases you will need to appear trustworthy so your customers can gain trust in your product. I use Famester and couldn't recommend it more. I still don't get it why people stay away from such services, but still struggle to take their business off.

There are soo many ways to make extra money. I was surprised when I heard about pressure washing trash cans, but it's genius. Lots of little odd jobs/problems people rarely think to solve for money. If it's not a side hustle I've shared, I'm sure you'll find something soon. You got this!

I've been in the carpenters union for 8 years in nyc. Did the apprenticeship and honestly the apprenticeship was the only time I worked consistently. The moment I became toppay, I started getting laid off from jobs after a few months or so then sitting out of work for months until the next one. The union is dying, at least in NYC and surrounding areas. They have introduced a pay scale for carpenters where a LOT of us are making a fraction of what we should be making. I wouldnt do it, as someone who went through the whole process, graduated and is now an out of work Journeyman. I would suggest switching to the Electricians Apprenticeship. They make a lot less comparing apprenticeship wages and their schooling is much more strenuous than the carpenters, but they stay employed, make a little more as a journeyman and dont have the "push" on the jobsites that carpenters have. They are treated as humans, carpenters are treated like slaves, unless you are related to one of the higher-ups.

@@ronnotes8219 I appreciate your opinion on this but what you said about our electrical union just isn't true. Our union treats us awful and on most jobs we are more than "pushed". You obviously haven't worked for some of our foreman.

Yea Navy federal gave me a really high limit. I applied and was denied at first so I got a *VRI TOKEN* , and I was approved for a capital one. The limit was so small lol but I took it and worked on it. Because if that it helped my credit and I believe that’s what made me finally get approved for navy fed with such a high limit. they're still working on increasing the capital one since it was so low. All in all I’m satisfied.

The stock market is currently experiencing a decline while bond yields are on the rise. However, there seems to be skepticism amongst investors regarding the Federal Reserve's plan to continue increasing interest rates until inflation is stabilized. As for myself, I find myself at a crossroads, uncertain whether to liquidate my $250,000 stock portfolio. I'm seeking advice on the best strategy to capitalize on this current bear market.

It's understandable that the current mass hysteria and panic are palpable. After all, we're not used to dealing with troubled markets. However, as you rightly pointed out, there are options available if you know where to look. Personally, I've been able to make a profit of over $850k in the last 10 months. It wasn't a complicated strategy that I used, I just knew that I needed a reliable and robust approach to navigate these trying times. That's why I hired a portfolio advisor.
