I used to do my own drywall. I paid a drywall contractor to do the next 3 houses I built. Drywall texture was done in a matter of days instead of weeks. My body was able to heal while the drywall was being completed. Looks like you are doing a great job .

I made this comment before he even started. Why he bought 4 x 8 and not 12s is beyond me. There are crews out there could have ran through the house in less than a week. They wake up every day living to do this and most are rock stars at it. He make some dumb ass excuses that truly make no sense. They could had started in the kitchen, before could had hung the cabinets, they'd have been finished.

Karl Griggs some people, like myself, can’t even afford to pay someone $500 to do the work. I wish I could pay someone to finish my home. I literally have electrical, insulation and drywall left. For most people they would pay someone and be moved in within a month. Me, it’s taking two years now 🤷🏽‍♀️.

@@jesseschoenfelder6455 are we watching the same person? You sir have no idea what I have gone through in my life. I am going to tell something. Two and a half years ago my son was 36 years old, was murdered December 11th 2016, last week nearly 2 1/2 years later, the trial for his killer ended with two convictions. 1st Degree murder and Conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder. Fuck you and your he's done more than me in my life time. I made my comments based on watching his for more than three years. On KZbin alone he makes more than $50,000 a year, so go ahead keep patting him on the back, because he keeps saying this is what he needs.

I'm sure it's a test of endurance and patience. I sure wish you'd get some help... it's never a bad thing to ask for a helping hand... needing others is a significant part of being human... though history would say we've done our best to prove that wrong... but in the end it's true none the less. It will be so hard to do flooring with stuff (beds, clothing, dressers etc) in the way. You've got to know completion makes things feel like they are worth it. Finish the upstairs completely... it will give fuel for the fire to the next level. Praying for you all... God speed and blessings...

A big old Army surplus tent and a cheep walmart aboveground pool could get you and your family through the hot summer and provide you with alot of little helpers to get the house done. Old pallets make pretty good sidewalks to keep you out of the mud too. A bbq and a garden for food and for cooking. Rent a portapotty as a shitter. Could be big money savers. Just an idea. Good luck.

The cover song at the beginning of the this installment is perfect for your situation. It's unfortunate your oldest son isn't more involved. My dad built many homes. With four teenagers in the house we nailed a lot of sheetrock, siding and made many lumber yard runs. It was work then, but are memories now.

I know the feeling! We lived with my husband's aunt for a year and a half, she was a wonderful lady, but I told my husband I was moving with or without him! I wanted my own home. He moved us outside of town to a section of land with a barn and a three bedroom farmhouse. It was right then I knew how well my husband understood me. He bought the place before I ever saw it, it was perfect and I loved it so much!

I heard about you from watching Broken Wagon's Vblog. You two are better and more informative than any reality show on TV. You both are examples of the American spirit and American values. You both show the benefits of family values, believing in yourself, working hard to achieve a goal that will benefit the family, the rewards of doing something positive in life, being a great example for others, as well as other things that I could put on the list. Your two blogs are much, much better than watching similar programs on TV. Keep up the good work and God bless you and your family.

Ruger deserves a buddy for him to show her or him the ropes. If I may suggest, a Mastiff girlfriend would be a great combination, I think. The mastiffs can handle most predators, including mountain lions. But, who knows with all that running around free, Ruger might come home someday with a dog/wolf family of his own. You'll probably have no choice but to adopt them. Dog/wolf combinations are great, too. Very Well Done on what you have accomplished and wish you and yours all the success on your future adventures! The big thing that keeps the individual from doing what you are doing is the extensive and excessive load that the building of a house by one man causes. You know as well as I do, if you don't get it done now, you never will. A half-finished house does NOTHING but invalidates all you have said regarding things to be proud of and quality. Hire people if you must, but get it all done and move into a completed, finished house. I know you don't know me or a thing about me, but please trust me...move into a totally completed house.

Congrats on getting so close. There are a couple of things I would have done differently than you...BUT, I can say without a shadow of a doubt. Your plumbing and drywall work is a lot better than I would have done! I hate drywall. I hate drywall. I hate drywall.

I can hear dinner...wow love the progress. My father built the house my parents live in, the thankful part is my dad had my brothers help every night to finish it.

I fully understand how your feeling. We've lived with my in-laws and my parents in the past (my mom had cancer, so we were taking care of her). It's hard living in someone elses space, not being able to make your own decisions, and needing to obey someone elses rules. You can always do the floors after you move in. Cosmetic stuff isn't that important right now. Getting it to the place that you can move in is important. You can always use area rugs until you pick out, and get time for, flooring. Good luck on getting everything done in time! You got this!

45 days??! No way! I can’t envision this but as a Jamaican I know I could live anywhere and make the best of any situation! I feel you guys can do it as well! Now that it’s warmer you can cook outside just about everyday. You have a roof over your head. You can make an outside shower that will come in handy during the summer months. I hope you plan to make a clothes line! It’s the most beautiful thing! I can imagine Cedar packing away all the winter stuff and things you guys won’t need in the next few months. She must be so excited!!!! I hope she plans to do some decor videos in the future! July 4th is going to be epic! 🔥🔥

As Greg Reid puts it, “A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dreams come true.” Y’all are almost there. It’s inspiring to see your tenacity with this house and the land. Excited for your family.

You're sounding a bit deflated at the moment as it probably still feels like a long way to go. I wish you all the best for the next 45 days.

Congratulations you have set that goal and it seems like the details just keep going on forever but I like you just would much rather be outside working on the world and our woods congratulations you’re doing a great great job.
