@@NovemberFoxtrotRC super stock diesel pulling tractors make 5500hp and run around 300-350 psi boost. That 3,000 number they put up they used almost 6lbs of nitrous. Super stock diesel tractors make that number on just fuel. This isn’t that impressive. If you don’t believe anything I just said do me a favor and just look it up before you tell me I’m lying.

If the water jackets on the block weren’t filled with concrete and every tolerance set for nearly 200psi and over 3000hp. That wouldn’t last long N/A on the street at all.

They were having issues with it spinning so they decided to go with radials on a beadlock and it worked !

Chris was at ucc and he didn’t put down 3k hp. Every dyno is different but the one at ucc where all of the top diesel guys are at it’s a fair advantage.

I met 3 of them during Sick Week. The reason they are so popular is because they LOVE what they do. These guys pile into minivans and even during the drive part of drag and drive they were laughing and smiling when we pulled next to them. Great numbers! I'm willing to bet the ranch on the fact that he had it turned WAY down for that 1/8 mile pass. No way in hell did a 3000+ HP truck only run a 4.99 @ 149mph. I'll bet he was only using half that on the run. That thing is a beast!

@@piccolo398 that's what I was thinking. It looks like it was built as a pulling truck and he only made a hit just because. I'm sure that pulling suspension sucks for drag racing. Even so, a 4.99 isn't anything to be ashamed of for sure. That would land it in the 7s in the 1/4 mile.

If I understood him correctly in the beginning of the video, I think he just runs the single 107 mm turbo on the track and adds in the 88 mm to run a compound setup for the dyno so yea im guessing he isn't close to the full power on the track

To be honest, you could build a billet 7.3 and it would be capable of much more than this Cummins. Respect to the build and it being a smart efficient build, but you do realize in every aspect of motorsports there is no replacement for displacement when 2 motors are designed to the same level and degree.

As a current p-pump 7.3idi owner i can tell you they don't even touch Cummins when you talking tune potential
@@robo1210 you realize that some of the top dogs there were running billet duramax blocks into the 2000’s hp range as well which is not as proven as a 5.9 or 6.7, the duramax guys still not even pushing the motor to its potential. A billet 7.3 or 6.4 power stroke would easily break the record. I can show you a 6.4 power stroke that runs the same etas as this guy with 1/2 the power…. Some people really are ignorant, and more so there is nobody who has the budget to rnd the 7.3 because the dodge is smaller and easier to RnD thus the aftermarket is bigger and more affordable for 99% of racers. I am a machinist, give me the same budget as that truck and I will bring you a 4500hp 5000ft lb torque 6.4 powerstroke that will actually leave its crank on the dyno and shatter the record.

Amazing to see what the base in-line 6 diesel design has done. Dodge and Cummins changed the game when they dropped that 5.9 cummins into the 1989 dodge Ram pickups. Now look at what variants of that same design are doing. Amazing.

Yes and no that's not how a diesel works. It's not running stoichiometric so your actual fuel delivery at that much boost is going to be substantially different. In a diesel you build a fuel map and then have your boost map based around that to get the smoke out and the power up.

Finally a diesel that doesnt blow coal the whole way! In europe, a car running coal is considered inefficient, and runs very badly. The cleaner the exhaust smoke is, the better (efficiency) the engine is running
