You did it again, Granny Pat! You awakened precious memories of days long since gone. I recall countless meals at my grandmothers home. The table was always set beautifully. Not just at holidays or the evening meals. Beakfast and lunches held the magic as well. Her everyday dishes were from the Franciscan Ware Apple Motif, probably from 1940-49, according to my research. Her table settings always made you feel special. There was always a tablecloth. My grandfather set the expectation very early on that one must be dressed and washed up before breakfast. You did not come to the breakfast table in pajamas with a fresh, just rolled out of bed presentation. You could feel an event was about to transpire, not just a meal to satisfy a hungry belly. Meals had more meaning. Your heart and soul were nourished as well. "Nana" poured all her love in each and every detail. There was an excitement to see what offering awaited in the small fruit bowl dishes. Would it be the cold syrupy stewed prunes with lemons slices? Maybe the grapefruit half with precut segements sprinkled with sugar and a cherry center lightly broiled. Whatever the menu, the love and thoughtful preparations were the main course. The gathering of loved ones to her table was something to behold. Her love was always present in even the smallest of details. We ate it up!

Thank you Sweet lady for sharing some of your treasures its such a privilege to see them. Im happy that someone like you that would love and value them has got them over the years. I know exactly what you meant when you spoke about keeping your busy when kmow one else is around because it seems that the older we get the less anyone comes around guess that is just normal or at least for me. Since my normal has become as it is now but that's ok i like it being quiet and peaceful i have learned her to enjoy it now. I absolutely enjoyed this video!!!!! You are most definitely a woman after my own heart!!!!! I am an avid collector of various vintage dishes, glassware and general what-nots, myself; not to mention, my vintage jewelry and modern jewelry, as well-I even enjoy making jewelry-so you can see that you and I have a lot in common!!!!! I totally agree that having collections is a wonderful way to pass the time and to enjoy life!!! There is no better way to spend your money than to spend it on beautiful things that make you happy!!!!! In my case, I realize that nobody cares anything about my collections but me-my daughter has never been interested in anything vintage, but hopefully she will keep a few of my treasures after I am gone. I don’t add to my collections much anymore because sadly I have run out of space to store or display anything else. I thoroughly enjoy changing my things around and bringing out pieces I haven’t seen in a while. Many of my items came from my maternal grandmother or my husband’s paternal grandmother; and, of course, many of them came from antique shoppes and even from eBay and a few from Etsy. I don’t shop much anymore because I just don’t need to be tempted to purchase anything else. I am absolutely sure that when someone has hobbies, activities, and the love of collecting beautiful things that they are passionate about, the happiness that results from these activities and things collected keeps them young at heart and in good health. Moping around never did or does anyone any good whatsoever!!!!! I enjoy the simplest things in life-I even enjoy ironing the napkins and handkerchiefs that I have collected because I do use many of them!!!!! I make every effort to find joy in EVERYTHING!!!!! I just don’t need a lot of people around me all of the time to be happy-I do love people, but I also enjoy and appreciate my own company!!!!! My husband has absolutely no idea what lies beneath many of our cabinets and cupboards-or what is inside most of the bureaus and closets in our home…LOL- he just appreciates and respects that I enjoy it all and that is all that matters to him!!! I hope you enjoy meeting your friends next week and that you have a lovely lunch and memorable fellowship together!!!!! Thank you so much for giving us a glimpse of your home and the beauty that lies within it-not to mention your kind hospitality and heartfelt explanations about the things you hold so dear!!! 💝💝💝

I Love the Pictures on Your Wall! You have me wanting to collect Umbrellas now! Yours are Very Nice! There’s not much I don’t collect. I’m running out of room, but I’ve enjoyed my nic nacs. When I go to the antique shops I call that getting my exercise. One of my friends says that’s not exercise. I told her it beats setting at home in a recliner chair eating Bon bons. She laughs about that. Not only that it keeps you in circulation. I enjoy talking to people and it’s like finding a treasure to take home. I had 5 brothers the 4 older then me went to that big auctioneer school out west in the 70s . That’s how I got interested in antiques. They would be at sales and come home talking about how something sold for this and was worth that. Sometimes talk about how High something brought. I was about 13 and that’s how I got started. When I was 16 my parents bought me a 64 Fairlane like brand new at an action with 9,000 miles on it. I Loved that car. I think it was about 8 years old. I’ve always liked old cars in good shape. I like anything old in good shape. By the way I like your chairs to go with your table. I have a weekness for chairs. Usually pairs of chairs. Lol oh I better quit . I have really enjoyed this video. Hi Pat, Daniel again. I hate it that it doesn’t show my name, just a code for a poster. I just got finished watching your cock-a-doodle-doo video. Love seeing your collections and everything was interesting and beautiful. I know you also said you have the Hall’s Autumn Leafdish collection. I’d love to see those if you ever have a chance to show those. I inherited my mother’s Autumn Leaf dishes as I told you before if you remember, and they are very special to me. I would sit with my mom when the Jewel Tea man came and showed all his housewares and was mesmerized by all the things he had. He’d have little giveaways for customers and he’d always give me some little trinket. While he was selling a dish at a time to my mom, I would be eyeing his cases of stuff he brought in, to see what was new for the month. Since we didn’t have a lot of extra money to waste, my mom would buy one item at a time until she had a place setting. I remember how my mom’s eyes would light up seeing all the things that Jewel Tea man had in that little bronze step van, and would bring in a case at a time. When I think back, I think the man had a little crush on my mom. She was beautiful and was just a wonderful person. Seems like he’d stay a little bit longer than would pay off for him selling something, but my mother would give him a cup of coffee while he was showing all of his products. Never anything improper between them, he was a gentleman and my mom was just a nice housewife. I think if he’d ever done anything out of the way, my mom would have given him a good whack with a broom and ran him off! HAHA! Anyway, fond memories of my mom and her Jewel Tea dishes. Just waiting for your next video. Take care and be well! Your friend, Daniel B.
