34,600 lbs load with Ford F450

We loaded up our Case 830 and Case 1030 tractors onto our BigTex gooseneck trailer to see how my 2008 Ford F450 would perform. We weighed it in at 34,600 lbs total weight, the truck being about 8000 lbs was pulling a total load of around 26,000-27,000 lbs.

i pull 18,140lbs with our 6.4 f350 dually at work and i thought that was a lot hahaha. i suppose its harsh on it because we live in a very hilly area

Those 6.4’s pull like locomotives. My best friends pulled a 48’ weekend warrior toy hauler up Tehachapi Pass at almost 70, then we spent 4 days stranded in the desert because the motor and tranny jumped off a bridge together.

@@bryantsieber4971 it's the owners and not the truck. I have a 6.4, 2008 250. I have 330k on my truck and it is bulletproof. I have never had a problem besides your normal ware and tare issues. It's a beast. My 6.7 2017 is a monster too. 6.4s' are not junk if you know how to keep them up.

My dad has a 02 Ford f450 with the 7.3 diesel automatic as u can see in my profile pic. It pulls 16k gooseneck trailer on a daily basis. It’s slow as heck but it sure gets the job done. The maximum trailer gvwr based on the owners manual is 19,000lbs if I remember right.

the limit for bumper pull i think dont quote me is 14k. 13k for F350 and 11.5k - 12k f250 deisel options can make that number vary......... what hes doing is not bumper pull its Gooseneck/Fifth wheel towing. which you gotta pull the ford books to find the actual spec. like my 05 F250 found out gooseneck im good to pull 21k F350 gooseneck same year model 2005. with a 6.0 i think its limit is like 28, and F450 somewhere around 40 id say. not 100% sure.

yeah special a Case 400 it has m&w pistion in it. it's regular farm tractor. my case D it's a wheatland tractor, redo cylinder head, rebuild carburetor, and change over 12 volt. case 400 we can get full pull with it about 90 percent of the time.

I don't remember exactly, but I believe I never went over 50 mph ( I was on 55 mph speed limit roads). If I had to guess on flat ground it was a little over 2000 rpm at 50 mph. Some of those hills were a different story, probably pushing 3000 rpm to stay above 40-45.

I plan on getting an F350 with a 40' trailer but most states limit the combined length of the truck and trailer to 65' (commercial). Out of curiosity, what is the distance between the rear bumber of your truck to where the deck begins on your trailer? A 2017 F350 crew cab, longbed is 22.18' and with 40' of trailer deck space that would be 62.18'. I just have to estimate what's in between the truck and trailer deck...
