I recently installed a gooseneck hitch on my 2008 Ford F450, so we wanted to test it out and see how it performed. B&W Gooseneck Hitch: amzn.to/2KcehVi Camera: amzn.to/2LN2fGY GoPro: amzn.to/2Ao56l3 Enjoy!

Looks great! I've just got a B&W gooseneck hitch put into my Ram 3500. Really excited about getting my first gooseneck trailer to haul car. Sadly, without my CDL, I can't get something that big, (my trailer on order GVW 14,000#), but maybe one day! 😃

The 6.4 is a ticking time bomb! Its crucial to keep up on maintenance and absolutely crucial to get rid of the dpf! Regen mode is a total killer for this engine. I have a buddy with an 08 SRW F350 with the 6.4. He deleted it when it was near new, pulls concrete form trailers daily. It's been a really good truck for him. But when that motor blows, the only sensible option is to go with a ford factory reman engine. My cost on the complete engine kit was $17k! I hope you got a screamin deal on yours. But great trucks when they're running good.

Really nice truck. I just purchased that same truck myself. 2008 with 50k. I've heard so much bad about them but I don't care because I as well as my family loves the truck. Bought it for camping and horses. I planned on the exact same bed modifications as well as the 5th wheel. You are quite right about the ride as I had to explain to the rest of the family. Glad to see your tow. I love the interior on these as well as the man step. Its my first diesel. Any tips on maintenance.

Don't push the truck too hard and do LOTS of oil changes. Look into a DPF/EGR delete if you can swing it. (I have a video about it).. Check fluids all the time as well.

seen what? a gooseneck trailer? Its basically just like a semi trailer that you have over there with a different neck/hitch to arch over the bed rails on a pickup. You don't have them because they don't sell capable enough pickups over there to warrant it. They probably will eventually.
@allenklingsporn69935 жыл бұрын
@@cheese-je9xs No, they probably won't. They don't produce large trucks because the streets are tiny and the taxes on large vehicles are high. Unless you're a commercial carrier, it's not likely that you'll be able to own a gooseneck in England.

Nigel van der vliet These have electromagnetic brakes, which are controlled from the truck’s brake lights through a computer box. Some also have electric pumps that run hydraulic fluid to a set of disks in the trailer. -Former Big Tex Trailers Lot Technician

dedreman 22 you are kidding right? It is a throw away diesel,that is highly unlikely to make 150k miles before blowing an injection pump ,turbos, and if you don’t delete it it will break the egr cooler and hydro lock the engine bending a rod ...even if none of that happens which isn’t likely it’ll start popping thru the intake and need heads and rockers by 200k because international cut corners on the valve guides...don’t buy one it will break you ,get an older 6.0 truck and have it bulletproofed or a newer 6.7 which is way better and Ford had figured out the emissions by then.
@allenklingsporn69935 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDiMartino The 6.4 isn't any worse than the 6.0. A lot of 6.0 owners felt the way you feel about the 6.4, but like you say, once you bulletproof them, they're pretty decent runners. The same is true for 6.4's. All of the problems you mentioned have well-known and proven solutions.

Hey if you were smart you would The breakaway cable to the chainand then the chain to your eyelids
@JerryMajor54257 жыл бұрын
Actually he ran the breakaway cable the proper way. By running the cable to one of the corner bed tie downs, it shortens the slack in the cable, If there were to be an accident and the trailer was to become unhooked, this would mean less slack in the cable to be used up by the truck pulling away from the trailer before the brakes on the trailer would be activated.

@cppower144 жыл бұрын
@@lyonneboss1694 Honestly the chains are a joke. If you break a goose neck coupler or ball you have a hell of a lot more worries than just chains which won't do a bit of good. That's why class 8 trucks don't use them, LOL could you imagine a semi having safety chains. They would be huge.
