To simplify the idea. Offset intake rocker arms became a production part to homologate them for trans- am racing series. Although the same casting, the race heads were not cut for pushrod clearance like a production head. The race heads with offset rockers allowed a wider area in what would be the "pushrod pinch" in a conventional head

Most of the nararration can be obtained through published Mopar books with pictures included. This video contained no close up imagery which would have helped viewers visually understand the differences between 340 T/A heads and 915/360 J heads. Not a good use of time.

I thought was more difference than mostly just rocker gear....some J heads weren't even 2.02 intake valves... I had some J heads that I paid somebody to drill out to 2.02 ... anyway thanks for that off-set rocker info... I didn't know anything about it.... 😉

The 72 and 73 340's used the 1.88 valve same as the 360's, they can all be cut for 2.02 valves if they are the 360/340 castings.

Is that a TA340 Block??

I bet if you ported the Intake port incrementally, you will discover how far those ports can be modified. But I'd be willing to say that owners of rest T/A & AAR cars would be unwilling to do that and class racing would also forbid it. An I mistaken?

Mopar sold retro 340 T/A heads for several years and aren't as rare as the originals, so they are around and get modified.
