Great video on the Trick Flow heads for the small block Mopar. Pretty thorough information there. Look forward to watching your other videos. I used a set of Trick Flow swirl valves on my '88 Crown Vic Interceptor when I rebuilt it. Did a mild port & polishing job on the factory heads also. Still emissions legal here in Georgia. I was pleased with the torque that the engine produced, it was a lot quicker than when I purchased it & after another 100K miles. My friend had a Malibu with a 383, I took him for a ride after I broke in the engine & it scared him. He wouldn't even race me in Commerce at the 1/4 mile track.

Trick Flow is losing a lot of the Magnum market that, by law, must run factory fuel injection and intake manifold. There's a reason that Kegger mods, porting, polishing, etc. have become more popular and common. Leaving that market to Edelbrock doesn't make sense as Edelbrock now has product for the LA AND Magnum market. A Trick Flow with 3/8"-7/16" rocker studs or rocker shaft with Magnum intake bolt patter and 10 bolt valve covers would be awesome. I guess I'll just optimize my iron heads or do so with Edelbrock heads since Trick Flow doesn't want my business.

@stevenmitchell63472 жыл бұрын
Disappointed that they are for rockershaft LA motors. Magnum block don't have the oil passages to lube the shafts and have to be drilled. There are far more Magnum engines currently in use that Trick Flow is ignoring. Many of us want, or must, run EFI on our vehicles and must use factory intakes due to emissions or budget. Leaving the Magnum market to Edelbrock makes no sense.
@SimpsonsSpeedShop2 жыл бұрын
These work on magnum engines! You just have to buy the correct rocker shafts from Harland. Then it will also convert your mag to La intake bolts so more options there!
@stevenmitchell63472 жыл бұрын
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop As I said, LA intake instead of factory kegger and now special shafts and 1.5:1 ratio instead of 1.6:1. Budget build friendly they are not. The advantages of the Trick Flow heads over Edelbrock mean nothing if I now have to buy another intake, special shafts, different throttle body, ECU, etc. Almost doubles the cost of my build. @SimpsonsSpeedShop5 жыл бұрын
+smilsmff well who ever told that shouldnt be judging horse power capabilities based on intake volume alone. The general rule is 2xcfm=capability of horsepower, approximately. Flow is all that matters. If you have a cast head that is 220 but only flows 245-260 at your cam lift it will be less affective that a small 190 CNC port head that flow mores. Flow is what makes horse power.
@smilsmff3 ай бұрын
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop yes also i noticed that the Chevy designs are larger cross section at the push rod pinch areas , and wind up with ultra thin area between the ports. so If the intake is made to match and the sealing of the ports can be done Then looks like even further work can be done on TFS SBM head here. as long as no water in between.
