cheers, I like the sound of that :) First thing is to get a shopping trolley, then look for a broken/ spares or repairs go kart on gumtree or elsewhere to use for a parts. Then if you haven't already, buy a welder. You can pick up a decent arc or MIG welder for under £50. When I'm back from uni for Christmas I'll make a proper video of this and try and show how I did it. Good luck message me if you have any questions :)

Well thanks to someone donating a broken go kart which I used for parts, I did the lot for just under £100. £50 was on the brake and most of the rest was welding wire. Thanks btw I appreciate that :)

I think these engines are good for 5,000 rpm without replacing any bits, at which point I'd be getting on for 70-80 mph. It is not tuned at all right currently, needs a bigger carb jet, plus I plan to get nitrous

50 mph at the moment... since fitting a car air filter it is running very lean so I've appliedthe choke half way, after a bigger jet and nitrous it should hit 65-70mph :D

Yeah, probably bigger because that had a gearbox on it. This has 337ccm stamped on the block, but they call it a honda gx340. Your 250 is no doubt more powerful than this, probably got higher compression ratio, bigger carb etc, fancy exhaust pipe, so it will sound louder. this is a very compact engine, it's aircooled OHV, google honda GX340

At the moment, reducing the gear ratio would probably make it faster yes. But once it's tuned right it will be able to get up to maximum revs, I am going for top speed as a priority :)
