Memories...as I get older memories become more and more important. The memory of something becomes more important than the actual material item the memory is of. Maybe that's why people let cars rot and refuse to sell them. They can't afford to restore them but they wouldn't dare sell it because a memory is priceless.

Very true. I can't believe one such a deep story is made, without scripts, millions of dollars scene & decor, millions of dollars actors and crows, singer, cameraman, light etc etc... If you see the humble garage and time of day, you can easily see how short the window of opportunity to create this clip must have been and how instant production is all that great Tom. Marvelous and remarkable story to be only shared more widely.

Automotive - and American - history storytelling at its best, and Tom is the perfect person to tell those stories. To those commenters who pick at the production values, sure, this was pre-planned carefully, but that doesn't detract from its value. In fact it makes makes it 13 minutes of something really worth watching. I have to agree with NYC LP Player, I was also having problems with that barn dust. Once I got that out of my eyes, I could see clearly enough to say "thanks" for this video.

I so enjoy your You Tube channel. Each barn find introduces not only an interesting car, but an equally interesting person/car owner. You have a wonderful way of breaking down walls & immediately...at least on the recordings it appears immediate... 'friend' of the owner. Great stories of really neat cars. Ah, the might have beens! As a very young man in the Army I was stationed in Connecticut. I stopped to admire a used ('preowned' wasn't coined yet!) Mercedes Gull Wing back in...maybe 1959 or 1960. It was sitting on a used car lot in Milford on the Boston Post Road. Of course I passed on it as I thought the price was too high. I don't remember the price, but it was reasonable for what it was. Man, that was a long time ago. Nice memories from a simpler time. Thank you for posting this channel. ~ Richard from Cut and Shoot, Texas
