The makeup wore really good but the undereyes did not look perfect, I have a sneaking suspicion that it's the powder because I did not like it with another concealer under the eyes either. But I will have to try it out more. The foundation did move a bit into my smilelines with time so I might have to set it a bit to prevent it from moving even though at application it seemed very matte. The lipstick and cheek products wore really nice!

It didn't look right under my eyes either. I'm thinking it's the concealer though. I tried it with the loose setting powder and it just looked crapey. Her eye shadows don't impress me in the slightest, but the lipsticks are beautiful.

I think you can put makeup on however you like!! I do watch your channel and other beauty content creators to get different ideas on how to apply my makeup 😄 so just ignore these people who think makeup has rules, like not contouring your nose if you already have a small nose, if you want to have a micro nose, its nobody's business if you look like Voldemort once its done!! 😆😂 Makeup application is suppose to be fun and experimental!! You do you Angie! 😊

Love that "nude" red lip. Drugstore level products, like foundation, concealer, powder products stopped working for me by age 35-40. I have to spend the bigger bucks now 😭

I don't like CT powder under my eyes either, because it always darkens and dries out the concealer I put there - but I love it on the rest of my face. Hollywood Flawless Filter is best mixed with CT foundation or other matte foundations - it's too subtle of a highlighter for me. And I love the CT setting spray and her cream eyeshadows - they are fire!

Personal Opinion Alert: As a consumer, of cosmetics AND KZbin, I can tell you that I appreciate reviewers/content creators who differentiate between (as you say) “good for the price” and “good, good.” The reality is, that there is a whole lot of drugstore makeup that does not perform as well as high end, and I’m tired of hearing people say it’s so good, when it’s really just good for the price. I find I stop watching videos from those people, because I no longer trust what they have to say. Of course, I completely understand that different products perform differently on different skin. I’m not talking about that. I’d love to see a video from you showcasing the budget makeup that you find to be “good, good,” and also something like top three in every category with your honest top three even if it means every item is high end. (Not that I think you’d be dishonest.) I hate it when it seems like people throw in a token drugstore item so as not to offend people. Thanks for your honest reviews and knowledgeable commentary. I’m going to go calm my t*ts now. 🤣 Carry on!
@bekkyholmes28763 жыл бұрын
I’d like to add that this comment was in no way related to the video Tati uploaded today, which I’m just seeing. I loved the format she chose of choosing a top drugstore, mid-price, and high-end item from each category. That’s another really helpful way of reviewing.

Omg TTTHIIISS!! I want to know if it's good or if I should invest in something better even if pricier. So sometimes it's very misleading when someone calls something good but you then buy it and realise it's "good for the price" but you could've saved your money for something better.

The girls from Beauty News recently did a video where they talked about if they lost their whole makeup collection and had to start over, which item in their routine they would spend more on and where they would spend less and it was really helpful! I always prefer when you make it clear whether something is good or good for the price (i.e. I should invest in something better even if pricier). Would love a similar video from you where you go through your makeup routine steps and let us know what you would repurchase if you had to; where you'd pick the drugstore/ midrange/ high-end/ indie for each step in your makeup routine.

The thing with Charlotte Tilbury for me is that they are so dependable. Every lipstick suits me and I haven't had a dud product yet. I can't say that for any other brand. Also, I live in Australia where drugstore makeup is already expensive ($26 for L'Oréal lash paradise mascara for reference), there's no Sephora or equivalent store in my town and I can't really return makeup I buy online. I'd rather spend a bit more money on a product I'm confident will work than on cheaper products I might not like.

You could try one of her eyeshadow quads. I know they lean towards neutral but she has some other good color stories such as greens, and berries. Try it not just for the colors, but for the QUALITY. Im sure you will encounter one or two of her formulas that you have never seen in other brands. The way she compose the story, hues and shades are quite unique. (I know she dupes herself, but on its own, here eye shadows are really good.

The only thing I have is a mini of the Hollywood flawless filter for a super star glow (or at least that's what my brain calls it after watching Samantha ravndahl for a few years). I do love it and I'm happy she's made a few things in mini size so people can see if they think it's worth investing in the big size. I use it as a highlight on natural days and I use it as a base for highlighters that can look a big odd it blends it to a color that looks more natural. I also use it under my brows, it's great to blend out a harsh shadow, my skin turns red really easily if I blend a lot with a brush. I want to try the liquid bronzer but it's so much for such a small amount and the sponge application seems like it would soak up a decent amount.

For the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, I tend to use it more like an illuminating primer, as it does a good job of blurring on me. I also use it as a foundation at times. From what I remember, it was advertised to work under your foundation or just as a foundation.

I wasn’t keen on that powder under my eyes either, but I liked the concealer on its own. I enjoy your explanations of why you use certain products - not that you should have to explain yourself, more because I only very recently started using highlighter and bronzer (and eyeshadow) and I’m still learning. I couldn’t really afford much makeup when I was younger so I’d just wear foundation or tinted moisturiser, mascara, and maybe blush and lipgloss. And I just used to own one of each of those things. Younger me would love my makeup collection now! Really love your videos, love your sense of humour xx

*Thank you* for saying bronzer is NOT the same as contour!!! Contour is supposed to mimic/enhance natural shadows created by bone structure. *Shadows are not warm.* They are cool and a bit grey. Contour can work wonders but it takes a) the right shade, b) the right brush, c) knowing where to use it, d) a light hand. I know you know this but so, so many don't seem to. Love you and hold you in very hard regard.

I think the setting spray is wonderful. I find it blurring and makes my makeup last all day. It also doesn’t dry my skin (I have dry skin). I find myself using it everyday because I like it so much. I have almost every setting spray invented and the CT one is my favorite even over the new Benefit one and Urban Decay All Nighter. Ive spent way too much on CT’s site haha. I don’t really care for cream shadows yet found that the Eyes to mesmerize cream shadow in Walk of No Shame has a red tone to it and I loooove it as a base crease color before adding more powder shadow on top and it is so fast and blends out better than other drugstore cream shadows. I was not sure it was worth all the hype but I’m a true eyeshadow addict and this one is a staple now for me. I also like the total face palettes she came out with this summer with the face powder in them because I traveled a bit and it was perfect for that. I also bought the darker palette too because I love a nice dramatic eye look more often then not. 👍🏻🥰 I still have a few drugstore faves but there are some higher priced products that are totally worth the extra cost. There are also quite a few expensive products that are not worth the higher price. If we can weed out the products that are more expensive than they’re worth and avoid wasting our money then great, I will have more $ left to save for the quality items that are worth it! Thank you Angelica for helping us out with that! Btw, I like the glow from the flawless filter as a primer under a matte foundation to change the finish and make it more natural or satin and it works well for that. I don’t use it as a highlighter because it’s too subtle for me. I’ve never tried it all by itself as a face tint personally. I like medium or full coverage because of my freckles.😁

I really enjoy the pillow talk mascara. I know it's not everyone's favorite, a lot of people just do not care for those flat edge brushes but hear me out. I have very long and straight lashes, I'm lucky if any curl is held with a curler, I usually have to perm my lashes. However, the Pillow Talk Mascara gives my lashes a lift that lasts all day, doesn't flake or clump, and application is pretty quick. If they released it in a brown shade I would own both.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY FLAWLESS FILTER YOU PUT IT ALL OVER THE FACE BEFORE FOUNDATION, OR MIX WITH THE FOUNDATION AND IT IS GGGGGGGORGEOUS!! The triangle concealer method works for my face too! You are 100% right, it totally depends on face shape or which illusion you are going for for the eyes. And yes, her setting spray is good. Her eye shadows are good, but they are ALL SO NEUTRAL that they aren't necessary to spend that on because those colors and shimmers are everywhere for next to nothing.

I havent tried that much but I have the powder, some lipstick and lip liner. None of them seemed that much better than cheaper products. I will say though her colors are very good. She's really good at those in between not pure colors.

The look is great. 🧐 I know your eyes are not made up because you didn't want to try the CT eyeshadows, but I think especially with the more striking lip colour 💋 and the eyes without make-up ... there´s something about it! I think that the combination of cheek products makes a grey cast...🤔 I also have the highlighter and the Hollywood flawless filter, which I also use as a highlighter.

Charlotte lipstick formula is my favorite, I love the shades you get, I think you would like viva la Vergara too 😉

Charlotte’s base and lips products are the best. Eyeshadows are pretty normal maybe it’s worth buying only the quad one is most drawn to, no need to collect them all.

that finishing powder is sooo good! I just hit pan on my 3rd one 🤓 I think you'd like the light wonder foundation, cause foundations that work for you, never disappointed me either! 😊 it's such a light finish and doesn't settle into fine lines. at least for me 🤗 I'm 34 yo for age reference.

I use my Hollywood flawless filter all over alone or under foundation. Or mix it with matte foundations. I also use it for natural highlight for a natural glow within but I have several shades in the flawless filter and use them all lol

I love the Airbrush Flawless setting spray from CT, as well as her lipsticks! Very comfortable matte formula 💋

I’d like to use the flawless filter underneath my foundation but after my primer. I just put it where the light touches the face: on the bridge of my nose, my forehead and my cheekbones.

The darling eye look palette from CT is absolutely amazing (one of my favourite formula of all time) it's pretty nude but it's very cute for more "coral and gold" looks. I have the airbrush flawless powder in 1 fair and it turns everything darker and more yellow. I have their shade 1 and 2 in cool for the foundation and I can't use that powder with it because it turns me yellow and at least a shade darker. The other powder doesn't have this issue and is very nice for combination and sensitive skin.
