I always find it funny when “older” influencers say they have fine lines under their eyes because of age while I sit here still a minor with an equal amount of lines because of how deep and hooded my eyes are set. I appreciate “older” women’s reviews over ones closer to my age because of that and they’ve helped me with many application techniques too.

Same here, I’m 26 and I have had severe eye allergies my whole life so I think they may have something to do with it as well. Everything creases on me and I ALWAYS have to set my under eyes, it’s just about what creases the least on them 😆

That blush shade does suit you very well and I agree, the liquid one does look better. But it's a good thing that they came out with different version of their blush for those people who want to build the coverage up rather than taking the risk with the liquid one.

Angie, primer isn't necessarily for skin that isn't normal. Primer can enhance the look of any foundation, blush, and eyeshadow by evening out the "canvas" (your face), to "prime" your face for your foundation. I don't have large pores. I don't have oily skin. I don't have breakouts. My face is normal to dry. The Hourglass Primer smooths and silkens my face in preparation for my foundation (liquid, cream or powder). It also helps your foundation stay on better/longer. Whether it's just an extra long day or a very hot sweaty day, your makeup will look better longer and stay put longer. There are different primers for different needs. The Hourglass Primer is more silky whereas the ELF primer is a grippy primer. Hourglass is my favorite! Primers will make any foundation look better.

Most reviews I've seen didn't like the concealer so I didn't want to risk trying it! But now I'm like 👀👀👀 Same with the highlight! Most people said you can't build it up, but you clearly did. That pink sheen was very flattering even if not super blinding. *Puts liquid highlight back on wishlist * ✨

do you do your eye makeup any differently when you wear glasses? i see you have lightened the water line, but idk if that was in preparation for glasses or not. if you do, i would LOVE love love a tutorial for glasses! you explain things so well, and make very deliberate choices, so i’m sure so many of us would appreciate that. i am quite nearsighted, so my glasses make my eyes look much smaller. my normal makeup tricks don’t look as good with glasses on, so i almost always wear contacts (it’s hard enough doing makeup when you’re in your 30s lol). i know you aren’t so big on tutorials right now, but i do think a lot of us would love this one. thank you, beautiful!

So far I've only bought the eyeshadow and concealer brushes, but I've enjoyed them and they are at a more affordable price point than most brands at Sephora. I haven't seen a makeup item I want from them yet based, especially the few I did have interest in reviews made me realize they weren't described as things I want.

Tesla is the cutest!the liquid blush looks pretty 💖 can't wait for the monthly roundup because I tried the Iconic London liquid blush and bronzer and they were so sheer I'm not sure how they'd even show up at all? I certainly couldn't see them on my light-medium skin tone so maybe the Rare Beauty would be a good choice 🤩😍🤩

I have the concealer, all 3 blush formulas, the lip balm and lip soufflé from rare and I love everything. I put the lip balm on again today and idk what the scent is but I actually like it and don’t notice it on the lips only when smelling the tube. I definitely have my eye on their new releases just because everything has worked out for me so far. ☺️

Angie, you might find the foundation to be more natural finish if you use the illuminating primer. The poreless primer I think is meant for more oily or textured skin, but the illuminating primer is quite dewy and meant to counteract the matte-ness.

On camera more than half a shade too dark, I feel like your foundation shade is half a shade too yellow. But that's me. Joy looks really good on you though! Thank you for the review ! I ordered 2 liquid blushes, a matte and a luminous one, and the lip balm in the transparent shade, and the taste is just…NOT FUN ! Literal soap…I was so excited about the balm 😭 but I think I’m gonna love the blushes ! I think I’m gonna buy the foundation and concealer next. They need to make liquid or balm bronzer 😍

I was turned away as soon as you mentioned a grandma soap. Only because whatever fragrance that is, it makes my skin freakout, and like you I don't have sensitive skin and it's fairly normal. I don't hate the foundation, but I have things I like more and I don't have to fuss with. I think this is a brand for people that do quick-out-the-door makeup, perfect for work. I think it's like Fenty in the beginning, it's going to try some things and some will be hits and some will be misses. I've liked the liquid blush myself, the shade range is nice too.

Thank you Angie for reviewing Rare Beauty. I'm sitting waiting until 5/8 because their "global" rollout doesn't reach Australia until then. I have normal/dry skin so it's really important to know about needing a hydrating product underneath the foundation if I pick it up (or a sample of it). I'm not interested in the lip products, because other than the lip soufflés, they're just going to slide around my lips, and I have plenty of liquid lips that I love. The blushes are what interest me the most, particularly the liquid ones. I don't think the melting blushes are going to last well in the compacts in Australian summer when it's like 44C. I'd be interested in your opinion on the one and done cream shadow things.

i 💜 rare beauty the Lipbalm that u said has cheap packaging mine clicks shut but the point is that it has that flat side so it won’t roll off your desk. & the packaging, a lot of the products, is arthritis-hands/disabled friendly packaging easily grasped/opened bcoz Selena has an auto immune disease i think she has RA -and/or lupus. Also a part of her proceeds/profits go to an organization that helps mental health/young people. She already has a kidney transplant iirc; && She isn’t a brat like kylie cosmetics (Jenner.) she seems like a genuinely nice sincere person. You need to try the eyeshadow palettes!! I hv 1 (the discovery palette) omg that duochrome!! Also she has a new mini “Mauves” lip set. I appreciate the price point. Rare beauty for the win!

I’ve found that the Rare beauty foundation tends to run a little yellow and darker than expected if ordering online - just a heads up. I got the foundation, concealer, blush and highlighter and was surprised that I liked it - an celebrity make up brand - as much as I did even for my older skin.
