This is so spot on. Thanks for continually producing fantastic content for numbers people like me. I finally got off my duff, niched down and cut the dead beat clients on my roster. Best move ever. I've been in this game for 20+ years and have finally created the kind of company I wanted when I first started. Thanks a million.

Thanks, Jason! Loads of good stuff here. I was able to take much of this and also apply it for my small business customers and their businesses. I am the dog grooming niche gal.

I'm not a big credential guy, if someone's engaging you based on a credential you've already lost the battle IMO So it's worthwhile if: 1.) You want to do it, the learning is good for you 2.) It unlocks some sort of service delivery you wouldn't otherwise be able to do Otherwise pump value into the world and folks will value you for you, not a credential 🙂

Everyone seems to be ripping off the pumpkin plan lately. I dont know, if a client is a more difficult client, I dont just discard them. I live in reality and there are going to people and customers that are not ideal. Rather, I work with them and be a professional. Accountants have become such divas.

It’s your own firm if you don’t want to deal with BS from clients you don’t have to

Love Mike's stuff and it has gotten me far. To each his own, its your business so your rules, but in my experience these C & D customers take WAY too much time and energy from me. One thing that I don't believe was hit on was the resentment that seems to follow with catering to those C&D clients and the lack luster performance on the business owner's end due to this. Be it conscious or sub conscious.

Agreed your flexibility to be a diva depends on how much leverage you have!

Accountants are divas? The people that work 70 hours a week for three months straight? Sure...and the HR lady talking about the importance of democracy every single day is not a diva... Accountants are the opposite. They have put up with BS and the status quo for so long the profession now can't attract new talent because no one wants to be in it lol.
