@SuperTruckerDan I really enjoy watching your videos. I have severe chronic lower back and neck pain. Most nights I can't sleep because of my chronic pain. I binge watch your videos when I can't sleep. Watching your videos helps me forget about my chronic pain. Thank you for making your videos.

Hey Dan I bought a new 1989 379 Pete and it had squeaky hood mounts. No amount of grease would stop it . What worked for me was to drive out the back nuts on the firewall and put bolt's thru with washers and lock nuts on the inside.

Since you hadn’t said anything about the old truck in a long time I had wondered if it was gone somewhere getting a complete overhaul and you were going to surprise us. And then here you are firing it up at the start of a video. Oh well. Maybe later. Nothing wrong with the newer one either. It’s just that Cat engine. If they still offered it in new trucks everybody would just think it’s just an old truck.

G'day, Dan! Enjoyed the video! Glad your back! You had me briefly going there... thinking you were shaking the dust off, and getting your Peterbilt, with the fabulous 'Cat C15' Diesel Engine out for run. By the way, you have a wonderful family! It's good you were able to spend time with them, and creating those great memories. Safe trucking! Thank you! Cheers! ✌🏼🚛❤️

Love warehouses in the flight path. Good to see ya back Dan! Yeah I should get some short straps at some point too. Also I think it’s good to have some with no hook, just ends. That way you can loop around something and run it through a winch on both sides to get it tight and grab the freight better. Have a great day!

My 2020 Peterbilt has some sort of grease on the top hood rubbers from the factory. Or at the very least the dealership. No hood squeeks at all, but you have to remember to not grab a hold of the hood supports when you crawl up to clean the wind shield. It looks like petroluem jelly.
@mattoates76365 жыл бұрын
Dan the ends that are left over from cutting the straps down make good packing for sharp edge's or abrasive edge's like on steel or concrete. Cut them to about 6-10 inch getting even more use for your $$

Got to love that old cat!! They just put a crate engine in our 2003 c15 and it ended up being $53,000. 😳😳😳😳. They did more than just the engine but still it's sooo expensive.

Where your Blue hose comes from the generator, Seal the threads with Permatex® Form-A-Gasket® No. 2 Sealant (non hardening)(available at walmart). I use it a lot for sealing threads on engines and when doing hydraulics on my old tractor. You can heat the fitting to soften it if you need to remove the fitting (Says non hardening, but to me when it dries it does get somewhat hard.

When you talked about the squeaky hood I thought you said it was the rubbers moving on the metal mounts so perhaps you should put the old socks on the mounts and put the rubbers over the socks? Or else find a way of gluing the rubbers to the mounts? or putting some kind of grease between them? I think it's something that has to be part of regular maintenance prob. not a permanent fix. Good to see you back, Dan.

@garyskowbo35645 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan hey thanks for sharing your videos,always enjoy them. I think there is one product you have not tried on those hood hangers. NAPA has a silicon grease (sil-glide) that I think should stop the squeak. Give it a try and let me know. Glad you had a good time at home,but also glad you are back to work. Be careful and stay safe out there.😃
