Awesome stuff! Im about a month into my tune now and it’s getting better slowly. Thanks brother!

This was awesome I have a turbo 5.3 that i just got done building but i am struggling with tuning. I was trying to use a VE table that was built for a different car and trying to use autotune to correct it to my car but it was struggling to make that happen. This is much better I can use the AFR table to let the ECU figure out a much closer number while datalogging and use that info to then fine tune it.

Sounds like a fun combo! Good luck 🤘🏻

Your video was very informative. I have a question about first start up. I have a blown BBC with Megasquirt II. It starts up, runs for a few seconds and dies. No sputter. It just stops. It does the same thing every time. The plugs are dry. I am guessing that it is too lean. What do you think I can do to keep my engine running after startup - adjust VE table, ASE, WUE, etc?
@BMF_Garage2 жыл бұрын
Well, first thing you have to do it get it past that and dial in the warm idle. After you do that, work on the ASE percentage and then WUE.

You mentioned going lean on tip-in, and ended up enriching your afr table to compensate. Wouldn’t it make more sense to adjust “acceleration enrichment”? I just began learning VE based tuning vs maf which is what I’m used to.

There’s a bunch of ways to do the same thing. The beauty of tuning is you can do it which ever way you please

I’m a member of the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Formula SAE team. We are running a Honda cbr 600rr engine with a stand alone ms3pro. We are also using tuner studio to attempt to tune. We have not been able to get the car running. Would you be interested in assisting us in getting the car running?

Sounds awesome. Let’s chat some more about it. Email me at brooks@bmfautomation.com

Great video. Very helpful. How does this tie in with AFR/EGO control? Doesn't the Controller Authority +/-% also turn off AFR correction when set to 0% ?
@BMF_Garage3 жыл бұрын
This mainly just shows the Difference in fueling strategies. If you have the fuel set to use AFR correction it will use the aft table to adjust fuel. If you set the percentage to 0, it won’t have authority to make changes

So if you turn on incorporate AFR it uses your afr target to create a VE number? So no need to mess with the VE table if turning on incorporate AFR?
@BMF_Garage2 жыл бұрын
Essentially incorporate AFR will use the AFR table to get to whatever the target is but it uses the ve table as a base to start with so it’s best if that’s close
@miatajames14723 жыл бұрын
I guess I dont understand this but afr table usually has your goals and you use ve to reach the goal. Not sure why youd change the afr goal.

Just nice to know what other options and methods you have to tune is all

Are these VE tables made up? As In Not real? Lol It’s crazy how much your VE table differs from mine lol... I’m in Tampa Florida cars on E85.

These ones were just for reference lol but in Colorado the elevation is way different so yeah...
