These vlogs are my way of journaling my fishing outings. I've always been a journaler, as it helps me document stream conditions, weather, fish locations, equipment, and techniques used. Great, fun episode Tom. Idk why but I did pay more attention and saw a lot more fish in this episode. Mainly close to where you were casting the fly. I did see more fish around those spots. Thank you 🎣

Tom your vlogs beg the viewer to incorporate use of the VOCAL SIGH AMPLITUDE SCALE = VSAS . A Likert Scale of Tenkara angler vocal intensity from 0 to 5. Example: In this video Tom hooks up with a trout the viewer rates audible "Vocal sighs" during peak moments of physical exertion during the battle with a given trout. ( i.e. @ 6:28 =4, 6:37=4, 6:41=5) Tom's Highest Total VSAS= 4,4, and 5; Range of scores, Mean score and Standard Deviation derived with Analysis of Variance ANOVA . Data collected from all viewers observed VSAS ratings on Tom's largest trout caught and released in this vlog. Scientific Method for laughs! Thank you.

Could the release tool cause the tippet to break when a larger fish like that starts thrashing around . See people using those and wondered about them . Guess its better for the fish if it works as intended . I'm up trying to catch a baby possum that snuck into the house , so I needed something to watch . You posted right on time . Yes, the release tool can break the tippet if held at incorrect angle. That’s one reason I keep experimenting with different types and designs.

@@TetonTenkara Thanks , I wondered about them . I mostly fish for bluegills and that usually requires hands on to remove a fly , so its a net for me . I don't get to fish much anymore so I always enjoy watching your videos !! Thanks .

Well done Tom, thank you! By the way do you find a 4-meter rod too long for such a narrow and bushy creek? Or it is because of the size of fish?

4-meter rod works well in this creek allowing me to stay a farther distance away from the fish. They spook easily.

Tom, because it’s often very difficult to see the line before a hookup, might you quietly say which direction you’re casting as you cast (“I’m casting this one up to the right, etc.”). Shouldn’t cause you much work and will certainly make viewing your videos much more interesting as well as educational to learn what areas a real expert is aiming for. Thank.

I'll try to remember to do better at that. However, since these vlogs are just my fishing journal entries and not produced videos, please forgive me when I forget. I agree that the line is difficult to see, even on the 4K version.
