Hi Jeff, Thank you for another thorough instalment. Wendy is beautiful to look at and in every other way too.. Wendy is everything I hold dear about air rifles. Her traditional air rifle style, walnut stock, carbon bottle, cocking lever, just beautiful. Although I don't own any Daystates and not connected to them in any way, I'm very proud they are British and that they produce the fantastic kit they are known for. Britain lead the way once upon a time in manufacturing. Those days long gone. The machinary sold off cheap, the greedy profits made for the few as they sailed off into the sunset. All good, so youd think! I know Daystate cater for every airgunners requirements, but personally, I'm not keen on electronics on air rifles. Pressing buttons and letting the air rifle do the work doesn't do it for/appeal to me. A bit like fishing. Some people set up at least two rods. They run their lines through bite indicators then sit back in their bivvy tents and go to sleep. I prefer to fly fish. I'm constantly moving, casting, looking over the water for moving fish, looking for signs of feeding fish, food sources, birds, insects, wind direction etc. There's no right or wrong. A hobby/interest is what anybody wants it to be. Different things appeal to different people. I look forward to your review of the mystery air rifle and. I'm intrigued to know what this air rifle is? Take care, Jeff. Best wishes, Ian.

Hi Ian, thanks for sharing. I agree with your sentiments. You'll be pleased to know the mystery gun is not electronic. 🙂👍

@hftshooter Hi Jeff, Thank you. It's nice to hear from you, lol. What I also meant to say was that I'm not over keen on the idea of thermal imaging means either. As far as I'm concerned, it's absolutely up to each individual what kind of kit they choose and use. Personally, what I can't see with the naked eye gets left alone, to go free and carry on its journey. I do hunt and am a hunter. I shoot covids and pests. I like to see Song Birds and smaller birds given a chance, a chance they wouldn't get if our surroundings were full of Magpies, Jay's, Squirrels, etc. That said, I believe we all have a right to be here, and even covids, pests given a fair chance. I just think thermal imaging for shooting air rifles isn't fair to me, personally. Sooner or later, they'll come out, and then they'll be fair game. Congratulations on your shooting successes. Well done! Thanks, Jeff, Ian.

Hi Jeff. I have a Wolverine R Hi-Lite .177 sub 12 also. I have fitted the Huggett Belita to the standard shroud, not only have I found it adequate, but it also acts like an air stripper, improving accuracy. I found the single shot tray provided by Daystate a real pain to use also. Especially when you’ve got cold fingers and can’t feel the pellet. Rowan engineering make a brilliant flip out single shot for the Wolverine. I have found it so good that I have only probably used the magazine about a dozen times, as I shoot, mainly HFT off sticks. I know what you mean about the feel. I love everything about it, even the weight. It just feels so solid and stable, especially shooting off sticks. The adjustability in the trigger, has made it as good as any trigger I have used. Light, but not too light, with a solid first stage and crisp break. I’m not the worlds, greatest shooter, but the Wolverine R really flatters my ability and will outshoot even the most competent of marksman. You really can’t ask any more of a rifle than that. Thanks for a great review, I feel like we are kindred spirits LOL👍

Thanks for sharing. I had a rowan loader for my ultimate supporter but couldn't justify the price for one for the wolverine. 👍

@@hftshooter Yes they are expensive for what they are. But it has made my life on the range so much easier. No more fumbling around with freezing cold fingers, trying to work out if you have put the pellet in the right way, or it hasn’t flipped over while putting onto the tray. Worth every penny for me. When you only shoot single shot, you’re not constantly getting frustrated with the simple process of loading your rifle. But perhaps that’s just me. By the way, I’m not a salesman for Rowan products. I did relate to your frustration of trying to load with the supplied single shot tray. 👍

I really like the look and design of the Wolverine but yet to find a review where a tight group has been shot. I would love to the the Forest laminate in RC type but holding back because I’m not convinced they are as accurate as they should be. If you get the opportunity and good shooting conditions could you please do a dedicated video for Accuracy and group testing of the Wolverine.
@hftshooter10 ай бұрын
I hear what you're saying. I guess it depends how much accuracy you need! What I get is good enough for HFT, but you're right I think there's more to be had. I'm planning to check whether the barrel needs polishing.
@Kralk.6610 ай бұрын
@@hftshooter thanks for the reply, to be honest. If it shoots HFT then it can hunt. I don’t know what process Daystate use to make there Barrel, if it’s single cut then really should not need polishing. Lovely gun though and I really want to purchase the forest laminate in carbine RC.

@@ulovemymum2963 totally agree, but I still have not seen anyone shoot a tight group with a Wolverine.

Hi Jeff, I've just watched and enjoyed your Daystate Wolverine Hi Lite review again and enjoyed it. Do you still think it was a good swap for your Air Arms Ultimate Sporter? Thank you, Ian.

The Ultimate Sporter is a nice rifle, I just didn't gel with it like I have with the Wolverine.

Would you use this on HFT ?

Yes I have. It was particularly useful when I travelled for a weekend comp and didn't want to pack a cylinder for recharging. It did two 40 target courses and a bit of zero checking on one charge. 🙂
