I grew up with Diesels mate so the B class has always been a favourite. Look up the 3rd series X class. That's a personal favourite of mine

The containers come up on the broad gauge service from Maryvale and they are transferred to the standard gauge flats at Victoria Dock.

No idea to be honest. It obviously works for both sides. Heritage gets $ for preservation and freight gets locos at short notice on short term contracts

49 has co co bogies , two control stands in the cab, different horn slightly different short end nose and a smaller fuel tank. Probably a few more too

Depends on the time the train was filmed. There was a drought in NSW and many of the PN trains in particular ran empty to Victoria and loaded up grain to take back to NSW as there was no grain during the drought.
