I've been through Kitasenju quite a bit, though I never really did much street shooting there. I did go through a bit of a Skytree phase at one point and the embankment of the river north of the station gives a pretty good cityscape view, so I did spend a couple evening shooting there. Now I kind of wish I had spent more time exploring around the station!

I definitely found it to be an interesting area. I’m curious what it would be like at night, as it seemed like many of the places I walked by were Izakaya and bars that weren’t open yet.

I quite like tattered and weathered textures so 4:13 really catches my eye. Nice shot!

Here the composition by Erik Satie accompanies your/our walk. It's so pleasant to follow along with my eyes. Again I'm watching closely what's going on and I'll take some time tonight to give you more detailed feedback. Already at 0:35 I have a small smile on my face - how you catch him doing what he does. And how eagerly he climbs over the fence ;-). Photo 1:41(I like it) - the man leans out of the window and - from the perspective of how you took the photo - it looks as if his weight is tilting the wagon a little. Despite his 'masking', I can still see some of his facial expressions. And I think to myself that he is looking forward to his well-deserved end of work that day ;-). I like the film scene from 2:20 to 2:26 when the woman with the umbrella approaches and the young lady runs across the zebra crossing - you could almost think that they meet directly. But in the end it's not like that. On the contrary - the two apparently don't notice each other at all. In my imagination, a movie could start at this point ;). Btw., did you know that Satie collected umbrellas? I read it in a short biography about him. At 4:35 - your attentiveness is amazing - and I can't even guess what's written on the hanging pieces of paper. 5:04 - nice that you caught her in front of the colorful garage door. 5:29 I get a quick look at the exotic bloom probably from the flower shop on the corner. And 5:45 - the relationship of things - the huge drinks cartons (milk?) in the foreground and the fish in the glass container behind. 7:44 - Look, what is the Cola Man looking for? ;-) Finally, I have one question: Do you now use a tripod more often when filming? Greetings from far away - Monika

I did not know that Erik Satie collected umbrellas! But now I’m curious as to why. Might have to go find that biography you mentioned 😄 I did not use a tripod in this video at all. Everything was handheld 🙃 hopefully that means I've gotten better at holding it steady if you think i’m starting to use a tripod more 😅 Have a great week, Monika!

@@jamesford_jp It's almost unbelievable how steady you hold the camera while filming! I've really noticed it lately, so I thought you were using a tripod or perhaps a ledge in a wall or something else similar to prop the camera up on for a moment. Wish you a nice week too.

Thank you! The cinematic bits are all on my Fujifilm XT5 while the action cam stuff is a gopro. And yes, Tokyo, over by Kita-Senju station to be precise :)

@@jamesford_jp Thanks. The Go Pro footage looks really good for an Action camera. Yes, I think I went down that street. I remember walking down a quite long rather thin road, with a station opposite when I was in Tokyo, IIRC.
