I’d say a 9.5 it hasn’t made it better or worse, just the aging of my 13 Pro Max is the only issue, after nearly a year of use, I’m at 94% battery usage

lol literally same, I have to charge it twice a day to use it how I want, crazy a phone so heavy has crap battery life.
@ESKATEUK
@ESKATEUK Жыл бұрын
@@SEA-dv5kh you have a serious issue if you need to charge a 14 pro twice a day to get enough battery life. I have a 14 pro max, and have no managed to make it run out yet. I used it so much in one day that it had a total of about 8 hours of screen time and it still had 20% left at the end of the day. If you’re using that much daily or more than that then you have a serious addiction to looking at your phone.
@SEA-dv5kh
@SEA-dv5kh Жыл бұрын
@@ESKATEUK Not even! My screentime is pretty low because I always use my mac,. But I do use it for work for taking 4K videos and editing and loads of other media stuff and I'm blind as hell so always have it at nearly full brightness. I don't charge overnight and don't have many location services on. It's weird. I'm 25 and work full time I wish I had the time to have a phone addiction lol....
@vurbbb
@vurbbb Жыл бұрын
@@SEA-dv5kh Taking videos in 4K is a good way to drain your battery. I'm surprised you couldn't really realize that on your own. I barely have it on full brightness and i'm pretty blind and I only put my glasses on when I'm driving.. I barely even have my brightness on 1/4th of the bar and sometimes I have it all the way down.. Editing and other media things especially when it comes to 4K videos will definitely drain your battery, so the phone isn't the problem, it's simply you're using it for things that require a high demand + full brightness... Also, charging overnight does nothing, phones are already designed these days that it won't deplete your battery after 100% (try putting "optimized battery charging" on under your battery settings.

If you have a oled model using a dark wallpaper really helps. Bonus points for setting up custom icons. I have a set of custom icons for the apps I use most. They all fit one page, everything else gets banished to the App Library. Also, if you really like the astronomy wallpapers, disabling location turns them into basic animated wallpaper. They don’t use that much battery this way, especially moon detail, my personal favorite.
@isatntt
@isatntt Жыл бұрын
thats actually a really good point, i dont think i've heard anyone mention that oled screen + dark wallpaper is probably a really good combo
@noel478
@noel478 Жыл бұрын
but what about burn screen?
@PeanutButterWasTaken
@PeanutButterWasTaken Жыл бұрын
@@noel478 burn in is really not that big of an issue. Dark images also don’t effect the risk of burn in. You’d have to be on a static image for a *very* long time. One guy left his switch oled on 24/7 and it took several months for noticiable burn in to develop. So basically don’t spend weeks on end admiring your wallpaper at full brightness and you’ll be fine.
@noel478

@@PeanutButterWasTaken, that's good news, i asked because I like dark images as well, but I was unsure if I can get burn it by them. Thanks for your reply.

That’s what they say, yeah. And I typically try to keep my phone between those percents. But if you need a full day of battery here and there it’s not gonna ruin your battery to charge it to 100%. I’m honestly still skeptical of the 30-80 thing myself.

also another thing is to update your battery when needed. overtime your battery will degrade, and you'll have to upgrade it eventually. usually when it gets reduced to 80% (from 100%) is like a warning that your gonna have to replace the battery, but around 75-77% is when you should be ready to replace it as even as little as 75% will make your battery drain horridly.

I would highly recommend to turn on “Reduce Motion” in Accessibility as well. This way you don’t just save some precious battery power, but you also reduce the likelihood of running into animation bugs early in an iOS cycle. Additionally, the iPhone feels even snappier. These excessive and in my opinion unnecessary animations always made me feel slightly dizzy anyway.

@@PlayboiMxtthew thats not totally bad tho. Worst case scenario, you got a good battery for another 12 months ++. Once you reach 80-82% is when you should consider to swap the battery. Even that is a bit early but yeah. I wouldn't stress the max capacity percentage too much. Use your device as you currently do and enjoy it. A new battery is dirt cheap, the swap is what costs a lot. BUT you can buy a 3rd party battery and swap it yourself. Its really not that hard :) I've done around 2 digits amount of battery swaps for myself and people i know. And its done in less than 30 minutes. And costs at max around 15-20$ Of course, you have a guarantee and warranty when you let apple do it. BUT doing it yourself is just as fine and far cheaper. Just buy from a reputable source/store.

@@PlayboiMxtthew if you have no problems with the phones performance or selection of utility. Then please opt for a battery swap : ) Theres no reason to get newer hardware unless you know that such a thing is something you cant avoid. If you have even an iphone 11-12. Then its more than modern enough for atleast another 2-4 years (4 is a bit far stretched, BUT they are still REALLY GOOD and speedy phones, EVEN in 2022. Imo, 13 and 14 is way overhyped and they werent neccessary releases (yet))

@@nuxxiz4628 Yeah you’re right I got an iPhone 13 Pro Max last year because I had my old phone for 3 years and the battery was really bad and yeah but the thing is I may get a new iPhone because my dad needs a new phone and he wants to switch his new for the one I have so I’m pretty lucky in this situation but I agree with the things you said, if it wouldn’t be the case I would just swap the battery when I get 80% and yeah

Question will disabling 5g and use lte save battery?

Yes, 5G antennas utilize more energy than 4G antennas due to higher frequency / shorter wavelengths If you don’t have access to the ridiculously fast speeds 5G is claimed to offer, keep it disabled.

I would like for you to make a video or include in a video of what settings YOU actually use or turn on and what settings you feel give the best user experience for an iPhone. I appreciate every video but we know by now what saves battery I would be interested in settings you use on your daily driver thanks as always brandon

Maybe cause I don’t use my phone for a crazy amount of time during the day, but my battery has been doing great. By the end of the day my battery is still more than 50%. I have the 14max.
