The engine bay of the mk2 Jetta hasnt seen any love in over 30 years and this was much much needed! It's definitely not perfect becuase im not able to get to every spot in the engine bay but man what a difference!

i try to hot water wash my engine bay at least once a year, nothing worse than getting black hands every time i touch something in the engine bay, and especially when it is a diesel. Btw there is a i think Dragon Green mk3 at my local junkyard. that color is super nice looking

Looks great! I would have gone with a carb and choke cleaner instead of the brake cleaner. Brake cleaner can be bad for rubber and plastics.

you can clean the coolant and washer reservoir with peroxide and UV light. look up for retro bright DIY for how to videos. This is commonly done with retro gaming consoles and even Air Jodans clear soles and plastic mesh.

Always blip the throttle to turn the battery light off after starting. This turns the alt on. The car will idle forever on battery power and drain the battery.
