Turned on your chronological order playlist last week and let it run while I cleaned house. You guys were standing on the hill where the solar panels would go and Reed said something about how they could sled in the snow downhill. You replied “Then we can go in our house, drink hot chocolate and warmup”. I another video, you and the kids were working in the front yard and you were saying how nice it would be to one day soon have grass. I had to smile. I started watching your videos almost from the beginning and have watched plans change and dreams come true. Thank you for the beautiful videos and for allowing us to follow your journey.

Keep going, you are nearly done; Its all the more tiring because its not the first weeks but the last month in a three(?) year project. Rather than worrying about what else needs doing before winter enjoy the present, the here and now because what you have accomplished is awesome and you need to respect that and take a moment and say thank you to self. You are truly an inspiring man with an uplifting project for a loving family and characterful pets. On the home run now. Blessings. 🙏

@comedianmattrossey
@comedianmattrossey 5 жыл бұрын
TOTALLY AGREED DONNA, I don't think he ever needed him, just wanted the help to speed up the process and get things done a bit sooner. But Heath is doing it anyway. Personally from what the impression the contractor is giving, the guy might know lots, might be able to talk the talk, but I would bet that his work doesn't walk the walk? I think Heath is probably better off without the guy, the guy sounds like a stereotypical dirtbag contractor who never finishes the job and tries to justify his laziness on the job being too difficult or the contractee being too demanding of the work they want done. Strangely, they always bail on the job the day after they get paid money for the work up to that point? Suspicious huh??? I've dealt with that personally. It inspired me to learn the skills I needed to have and do it myself. Then I can only blame myself if I don't do something right, but I can then learn how to correct myself and my skills just strengthen me.
@donna7881

@@comedianmattrossey matt, you said loud and clear. I agree Heath is so much better. However I really think that guy is totally ignorant and is low as he can get, he missed the bus on this one and probably more, not very good business and something very important communication! Never lead someone on, just being honest! It really is best for everyone. You may not like it, but at least you understand it. Donna

I have to say, I loved hearing you voice the inner debate you had inside of your head about leaving something less than perfect if it'll bug you later on or just finishing up. Here are my thoughts on how to handle something like that. You're looking at the bare walls and bare floor and using the eyes of a contractor to determine if it's ready or not. Instead, envision the painted walls and finished floor and furnishings and paintings and pictures and family and pets and activity and fun and look at it through the eyes of a HOMEOWNER. If something's dangerous or will cost you MONEY or TIME if you don't fix it immediately, that's one thing. But if you THINK it will just bug you, wait until your family is moved in and it's all furnished and you will probably FORGET most of the things that you actually thought would bug you later. In other words, you're wearing two hats. One hat of the person building the house, and the other hat of the person going to live there. Try to figure out which hat is more important each time you come across an imperfection of some sort :) Finally... LOVE the videos.

Congratulations on all your hard work Heath. You’ve spent countless hours on your home and you’re truly a power of example when it comes to what can be done through determination and perseverance through adversity. God Bless you indeed. Being a Painting Contractor myself, I was a little curious as to why you were using eggshell and the ceilings. Seeing as your intent was to spray it all in one fell swoop, I now understand. It will be handy, given your family brood, to have washable ceilings as a matter of course. Given that wash-ability, if that was indeed your motivation, I fully understand now. On the East Coast, ceilings (outside of baths) are almost universally painted in flat. Anyhow, I thank you for your dedicated updates, (I’ve been following you for months and months now), and earnestly wish you and your family all the best. Again, God Bless and keep on keepin’ on!!! It is hard to express, or to understand for myself the level of excitement that I feel for you and your family right now. Having been through this same journey and knowing the determination, weariness, and excitement that you are feeling right now, I am happy for you, Cedar and the kids to be this close to being HOME. Keep up the good work, and you will be there, living your dreams soon. Very soon.

I believe the pseudo drywall contractor is actually a troll who watches all your videos and delights in your struggles.

I hope the drywall contractor calls and says he's ready and you can say it's done snooze ya loose. You have worked so hard and it looks amazing. Know it will be a great family home and many family memories will be made. Kudos to you hang in there your rounding third and heading to home!
