Just watched Steve Morris put 4200 on the hub dyno with his wagon and switch it over to pump gas to drive it down town for ice cream. It’s crazy what power numbers these cars are making compared to 20 years ago.

@@kevindebouchel9739 exactly the stupid crap is entertaining but you don’t learn anything that’s why I love Steve Morris channel. He just posted a video he has the wagon on the hub Dyno you gotta go watch it bud… you will not believe the horsepower that SMX just made at only 56 pounds of boost

Crazy to think that is only at 8000, these guys push them well into 11,000rpm through the beams. And that screw blower keeps shoving more air and even more fuel like it’s nothing.

Just going to guess that not much work is getting done at Fuel Tech or Pro Line when a car this loud is on the Dyno.

that was a gearchange. fueltech simulates a drag pass on the dyno, from the 2 step launch to shifting through all the gears. gives a far better idea whats going on with the tune than just a short high gear hit.

There’s a lot to explain here. Methanol engines work better under load, without a load, it won’t have the energy (heat and speed) to initiate combustion. Nitro cars make this more obvious: watch during the burnout and you’ll see the car lose cylinders because there’s no load during the burnout. Methanol and nitro need resistance. Also, methanol is the cooling system. You set up fueling curves based on exhaust gas temperatures and not AFR, and a lot of the time they’re really rich (except at WOT) to keep cylinders cool. In talking with nitro guys, I learned that they like to fuel each cylinder as close to identical as possible, and they adjust static compression (by manipulating pistons or rods) to balance cylinders with each other - I build gasoline and alcohol engines for normal people and not top fuel teams and I’m just the opposite: I build statically/mechanically balanced engines and adjust balance with the fuel flow in each cylinder. In my case, some cylinders run richer than others and you’ll see more soot or flame from one over another. Last, I saw what you saw: one cylinder had an obvious output the others didn’t, and during WOT. All that said above, I’ll agree that cylinder is fat 🤣🤣
