I own a 06 350z and got a spacer, aluminum pulleys, and a cold air injection installed. I had to get some warranty work done on my motor at a dealership and had to remove all the mod parts. My car was noticeably slower when in the stock formation. The HP returned after reinstalling the mods. I’ve had to reinstall the stock air box for emissions before also. IMO each part adds a small percentage of HP and the combo seems to work well together. I have no regrets about the mods. Just my experience. Thanks for the video. Edit- I got all the parts from ConceptZPerformance I spoke to them on the phone and they were very knowledgeable and kind to me, especially since this was my first Z car.

In my country anything above 200hp is overkill already because of mostly bad roads and unsafe driving conditions. That’s why I don’t bother about performance mods on my 04 g35 coupe

Dont buy the aluminum one get the thermo cool one. The reason they loose power is because the aluminum heat soaks the manifold and the thermo one thats mad out of some kind of poly whatever lol it cools down a lot faster

Just to clarify the 03 and 04 has a benefit from this bc the lower plenum has longer runners. The reason 05 to 07 doesn't get gain is bc the short plenum runners, if your were to switch to the MREV 2 lower plenum (same plenum as the 03 to 04 with longer runners and shaved) you would definitely see gains bc of the runner length. So 05 to 07 buy a MREV2 plenum and spacer and reap the gains.

Early 05 is the same as 03-04 later 05’s were revups for the Z.

Yes and no. I’ve owned my 05 for 5years and at the beginning I was trying to find out what my car was and it’s a DE with CD009 trans. Some later 05’can come w rev up also depends on model

My 05 track edition with the 6 speed manual is not a rev up and has a restricted port runners on the front two ports of the plenum so it would benefit 03 to 05.

So many people have opinions and questions on this plenum stuff. I feel the maker's and manufacturer's of these parts should make videos displaying the HP gains with it on and off and the year difference. If they don't have any videos by them it's most likely because they can't prove anything. If they did they would advertise and demonstrate it for business reasons and sale flo marketing. Don't waist your money on stuff that won't give power gains.

I just recently bought a 38k original mile 350Z. I did add a velocity stack to the stock air box from a rev up motor along with an S-Tune catback. Definitely sounds better. The car is still pretty quick as it is. I've been debating back and forth while her to get a plenum spacer. It just seems for the price that they charge is a rip off for a sheet of metal.

I am in the middle of putting new valve covers in an 05' 350z VQ and was going to rush to the Z-store today and buy the plenum spacer or the Kintex (plastic) one. Now I see this video. I can't argue with the Dyno. There are like 100 other video's saying it is great and then this one with actual data. Ahh,,,logic. Hmmm..why am I finding it hard to let go and put my wallet back in my pocket and spend the money elsewhere...Anyone have a Dyno for an 05 and up with just this mod than can contradict this other than the manufacturer of the part?

Thats because the 05+ has the spacer built into it.(thats why its the rev up engine). Nissan noticed them self and fixed it for the 05 and up. This information is really easy to get.

Please don't make any more uninformed videos. The plenum spacer is a cost effective and extremely easy to install "best bang for your buck" mod. Your dyno examples are beyond misleading, representing 1100+ ft lb VQ35?? You also say koney would be better spend on something to make more sound or paint... sounds very.... ricer

@@Vlad_Shv there's various thicknesses of spacer, you will notice a gain in mid range tq and with some top end power. Although gains are minimal it does make a difference. I would always recommend a tune, spacer or not, DE won't gain alot but you will notice smoother throttle and some reduced limiters.

Don't recommend people to buy Blocks. It's garbage. There is a difference in the Plenum Spacers. You want to get a 5/16 but they are not all the same. The only one that has proven amazing results is Motordyne. With FI you can get about 19hp gains. Don't waste your money on Blocks or Skunk2, you might as well make your own spacer cause they're junk. They are not going to help you.

If you have a plenum installed you need to make sure the oil cap rubber seal at the base does not get stuck under the plenum making a gap between it and the manifold and creating a vacuum or suction sound.

Hi there I just installed the Blox 5/16 plenum on my 04 350z, then when I started my engine there's a huge of changes, first is the sound which's like "angrier" "grindy" than before and kinda shaky thou. And i can see that i gain more hp but is that normal if you put plenum shaky and a bit louder .

pretty expensive for not much gain. the iso-thermal gasket for between the lower manifold & upper plenum reduces heat trasfer from the engine to reduce heat soak allot cheaper. you dont even have to space the plenum too if you dont want.

This should not be one of your first mods, this should be done when you have maxed out factory injectors and you have the need for more air. Just my opinion, otherwise you get this then pay for a tune then you get an exhaust (tune again). That’s the idiotic more money than brains way of modifying your car. Save up buy all the parts you can afford then once installed go for the tune to unlock the HP. NO tune means only sound no muscle behind it.

Apart from that. stock ECU auto tunes... almost all(if not all) ECU's do this. The ECU senses that it gets more air and so adjusts every thing else. piggy back tunes are set manually and locked so the ECU cant adjust those tunes.
