No SEM matte clear coat? I did a 20111 Toyota Tacoma a few years back and made many of the gray trim parts black like on the 2015 model. If I remember correctly I followed a multi step process using all SEM products. 1 - SEM SOAP 2 - SEM adhesion promoter 3 - several light coats of SEM black 4 - SEM matte clear / 2 light coats. It held up really well and you didnt have to worry about it scratching with every little touch or bump.

So far so good, but if we end up having to ever do it again I’ll definitely be using the matte top coat. Chose not to because I had already done it this way on my GTI with awesome results a few years back and no issues, though the 350z plastics do have slightly different characteristics. Guess time will tell

Question : I have a 350z and the center console looks so ugly like the paint is coming off, I’ve been looking and trying to find how to repaint it. Do I need to sand it or can I just spray paint it like that?

We didn’t sand ours just cleaned with wax and grease remover. Use SEM adhesion promotor and then the SEM color coat in whatever color you want and it’ll be mint. If you really want it to last add a SEM topcoat product to seal it all in. But this stuff is specifically designed to be used on weird materials and unsanded surfaces. Just needs to be clean and free of any loose stuff like flaking finishes or dirt/dust.
