Not overpowered with thrash metal so you can hear, no unfunny cheesy jokes and all the talking was just what you wanted to hear and needed to know ... not over narrated. I'm kinda sad it's over. Do another video on diagnosis of where and why it let go. Then build a better one. Use better parts and if cost is a factor then do a "Go fund me" for help with cost. Thanks again for a great series. @@immaculatelation there will be no man ,as we know them now, existing after the apocalypse. I have two of the earliest 351 W blocks, complete engines, which are known as C9 castings. They are shortly shorter and have alot more reinforced bottom end than the later 351W. The main webbing around the crank area is strikingly thicker. They are so different you can actually see the difference. They also have a much better oiling system than the Cleveland 351. When Nascar ran out of Cleveland blocks they started using the Windsor blocks. They can stand alot more abuse than the Cleveland block, and with good aftermarket aluminum heads and properly set up, the Windsor produces as much power as the Cleveland. Strange , though, the 351 Windsor was originally meant to be a truck engine , but as time went by , people saw the potential power it contained and started to build them up and stick into hot rods. A properly set up 351 stroked Windsor can run with the best of them.

It was pretty cool that a 30+ year old block never made for that power held it that long. 400 HP is on par with that block. However over twice that with turbos is definitely not what it was made to handle. But it was cool to see the power it did hold up to with a basically stock bottom end. Trying something different is what it's all about and the build was definitely different. 🎉🎉

I love it. I do think Chevy copied Ford but not so much in just a copy. Chevy had to move to skirted blocks with 6 bolt mains because Ford had been there since the 50’s. ( the first LS block looks extremely similar to the Ford Y block.). Using knowledge is part of everything so they took what worked and implemented it in a new engine. Power wise on this engine AFR heads would have made more power with less boost so I couldn’t see this catching on but certainly awesome to see you do it.
@SPAZTICCYTOPLASM9 ай бұрын
Man when will you ford guys give it up? Toyota released a V8 with 6 bolt with cross skirt mains in 1989, and Mercedes and other guys have had in engines forever. the LS has nothing to do with the ford anything. And it's funny you bring up the Y block when ford abandoned as soon as Chevy designed the definitive small block, and ford created the Windsor which is suspiciously close to the sbc. The SBF windsor has so much more in common with the sbc than any previous ford engine.
