Shai is definitely not “clearly” better than Tatum (great content tho Joel lol) but as far the superior offensive player, I’d give Shai a slight edge. His driving and mid range efficiency clearly make him the better heliocentric option for 82 games. In the playoffs, I do think Tatum’s size and microwave shotmaking would give him the edge for me in addition to slightly better playmaking. We saw when the teams matched up, Shai was having his way with the Celtics, getting wherever he wanted. The C’s only slowed him down late when they put their best, biggest wing defender, Tatum, on him. In the playoffs, an elite wing defender is only thing I can see disrupting Shai’s elite middle game and forcing him to pass, and there’s a number of them out West.

In terms of regular season performance yes , but only because of the teams they are on , if Tatum didn’t have Porzingis and Holidag , he averaging over 30 a game with almost 10 rebounds and close to maybe 6-7 assist.
