You should be able to cancel before you're charged (24-hours prior), but as for renewing a trial and repeating the process, I'm going to guess that most developers have thought about that. Hi James, thank you for asking. As far as I know, you can't remove them. They eventually fall off, but Apple seems to leave them "just in case" you want to change your mind and resubscribe. The answer is NO. :) In my experience, removing the payment method continues the subscription, and I don't think Apple lets you remove a payment method until you've canceled all subs, but in order to cancel a subscription Apple wants a new payment method. Many times you can access a service on your iPhone so it seems like you should be able to cancel it from your iPhone, but you actually signed up using Amazon or Google or some other service provider (like direct from the app/service's website). @@358studios there was just this app that I downloaded a few weeks ago, that gave a trial version and also a pay for the premium or pro version option. I never did actually sign up or click subscribe, but I did hit all the “ok” and “next” buttons and all that good stuff. But after a few days since the app was janky and not working as I’d hope I just deleted it from my iphone. Now when I go into the setting where u show on ur video, it says I don’t have any subscriptions, but when I go into the app store and click on my apple id pic and and purchased apps, its there. Or do all once downloaded apps show as purchased, no matter free or paid? I did all of this on one, same phone and account. So don’t think it would be different service provider. I would guess that the issue is a current payment method, not the expired subscription for the app. Check for any outstanding charges or apps wanting to charge but can't. That is usually why accounts receive this message.

Hi Carol, thank you for asking. What you’re describing sounds like it may be something you signed up for on yahoo‘s website. If it’s not showing up in your subscription area on your Apple ID, typically that means that you signed up through third-party or a different website. Even though you’re paying with the Apple card yahoo is apparently charging you through a different service. Please let me know what you find out.

@@358studios You we’re right - it took me two hours of searching but I finally found it through Yahoo. Actually Apple support (and your video) started me down the right path - but my first obstacle was Yahoo doesn’t provide “free” support neither thru chat, email or phone. They also don’t provide order # or phone # on my credit card statement. And there were no “my subscriptions” on Yahoo account. I found a very old email from Yahoo with a free trial and a toll-free number (Apple’s suggestion) and lo and behold the charge generated from this free trial I apparently didn’t cancel. It seems deceitful that Yahoo makes it so hard to cancel or find out how to contact them. If those zillion steps didn’t work, Apple Security was going to investigate as fraudulent charge on my card - thankfully they didn’t have to. And your video was extremely helpful - I found two other subscriptions I forgot about and cancelled them. Thank you!

i’m not sure if you’ll reply since this video came out a while ago. but if i by accidentally signed up for a yearly subscription and then cancelled it but it still active amd says it will expire in a year. do i have to pay the rest of the year even if i don’t want to. idk if that makes sense but thanks for this video anyway. i am also still getting the perks of the app after cancellation.

Hi Maia Solomon, as long as you canceled, it should stay active until the end of your billing cycle at which point you should see that it goes to the expired. After several months of being expired, it will fall off. It sounds like in your situation you've already paid for the full year. Having the perks usually means the subscription active through your next billing cycle at which point you'd see the perks go away. I hope this helps. Hey Frances, sorry but this will only work on an iPhone. Usually, Google subs are Android. if you signed up via Google Chrome, that's another completely different thing. Good luck.

hey there. I haven't run into that error. Check your Apple ID and that you have a current payment method. It may be stopping you because they think there isn't a valid payment method. Worth a try.

Hi there. I'm sorry but this is outside of what I know. I would start (if you haven't) with getting a valid CC associated with your Apple ID. Possibly use your computer and use the "Music" app then go to the iTunes store and update your CC. Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.

I'm not completely sure what you mean, but if they've charged you then you will have use of the service until the next billing cycle, but I've never heard of anyone getting a refund once charged... unless that is part of the developer's guarantee (not likely).

Well, they've done great for most, but I'm going to guess that you signed up via a different service than Apple. Double check your other providers, like Google, Amazon, Facebook, etc and see if maybe your subscription is housed there. Not all subscriptions accessible from your iPhone are necessarily through Apple. Hope that helps.

Mines too but maybe if it’s an free subscription for a couple days or a month it will unsubscribe after that time period is up unless you do pay but I deleted the app so I might have to wait 3 more days and it will cancel on its own I’m not sure if I’m right but I think that’s how it works
