FPV-Power and BerleyPro got together and came up with a solution for storing lots of power in the rear hatch of Hobie Pro Anglers equipped with a skeg (will work in other circular hatches as well).
For wiring the FPV-Power pigtails - the brown wire is Positive + (red) and the blue wire is negative - (black)

Thank you for all your hard work over the years and for sharing the information. I've learned more from your channel in Kayak mods (clean kayak mods at that) than any other channels bar none. I'm going to be installing the new Humminbird Solix 10 on my PA 12 when it's officially launched, (something I would have never even considered trying before getting ideas and confidence from your videos.) Any chance of you switching to humminbird? A template wouldn't hurt haha. Thanks a lot Tim

Great video Tim, I’m assuming that you spliced some wire to the pigtail and added a SAE connector to it. Which allowed you to connect to the switch.
@TimPercyKayakFishing
@TimPercyKayakFishing 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I spliced the SAE plug to the FPV-Power pigtail. I believe FPV-Power is coming out with something similar so you can plug directly into the Yak-Power system .

Been watching for a while, got some good ideas from you Tim! 👍 'appreciated. I do have a question regards your volt meter readout on the Ti9. I have a Ti 7 with TotalScan (not Ti-2) and cannot figure out how to get my voltage to read. I just get 3 dashes (no data). It could be my Nocqua 10ah doesn't send this data, I dono. Lastly, and this is even more important to me, is there anyway to get a "remaining percentage of battery charge" through the Lowrance? That would be lovely, but I can't find how.
@TimPercyKayakFishing
@TimPercyKayakFishing 5 жыл бұрын
There is no way to tell the remaining voltage remaining, all you can display is the current voltage. It should display the voltage with your battery

I just got two of those 12v 17.5ah Batteries and the BerlyPro Batterang to install them in the 8 inch hatch of my Pro angler 14 360. Is one sufficient for the Garmin UHD 74cv with the 9inch screen? I want to use the other one for running lights. The Hobie XL livewell has its own battery so I'm covered there.
@TimPercyKayakFishing
@TimPercyKayakFishing 4 жыл бұрын
One should run the Garmin all day. The running lights shouldn't use much power. In the future you may want to look at purchasing the FPV-Power Distribution Hub...you can connect the two batteries in parallel, run them to the Distribution Hub and control all your components with the remote.

Hi Tim, just saw your video and I’m running the same equipment you’ve mentioned the HDS9 carbon with the 3D transducer. If I use two 17.5ah batteries and the 5a regulator, there shouldn’t be any issues. Is that right? And how long do I think it would run. Thanks
@TimPercyKayakFishing
@TimPercyKayakFishing 5 жыл бұрын
The Carbon with the 3D hub is a power hog. I never really had it out for very long to test how long the batteries would last. I sold the unit a while ago, because it used so much power and I didn't use most of the features.

Percy, I would like to call you to discuss this setup. I have the dual17.5 batteries with a Carbon 7 and a Yak Power switch. I am trying to find a way to continue using my YP Switch but doing so would mean losing 35 Ah.

After watching this video I got some of those batteries also. But I’m no electrician. Question though? I noticed the wires were blue and brown. So the question is, between the two color wire which one in the positive? Which color did you solder to the red wire from your fish finder power cable?
@TimPercyKayakFishing

Brown is positive and blue is negative. Solder the brown wire to the red wire and the blue to black.

Tim, I'm going to use the same setup. From what I'm understanding, there was no need to use that FPV regulator after you changed Lowrance units?
@TimPercyKayakFishing
@TimPercyKayakFishing 5 жыл бұрын
The only time I needed the regulator was with the HDS Carbon and the 3D StructureScan...it was a power hog. I've only run my new Ti2 12 in demo mode so far, but no issues. I will be on the water this week at tournament to give it the full test.

What actual warranty does FPV-Power provides given that they’re based out of Australia? I am actually not that thrilled about putting lithium Ion in a yak... I know these are light but the LiFePO4 are a lot safer.
