When Sephora originally started selling their holiday sets, the sizes were much bigger and the value was there. Not anymore, especially in Canadian dollars. They’re expensive for getting mostly products that 100 point rewards. There’s some exceptions but they have evolved to be not so worth it.

I like sets in theory. I don’t normally buy high end makeup (drugstore rules!) but I did like the $42 Sephora favorites. Two full size blushes and some new lip products - yes please!! I like trying new things. ❤

Tarte thinks each one of those eyeshadows retails for $110? I call BS. The 12 pan pallette is $47 pallette, the 6 pan is $29 and the holiday sets are 8 pan pallettes. By their figures, each 8 pan pallette should retail for $110. Total BS. And, honestly, I cross off companies that fudge their numbers like that. Dishonesty doesn't get my business. Oh, and if you like to carry mini sizes of Laneige and have the big containers at home, use a travel contact case! I just scoop a bit into each side and pop the case into my purse. Easy peasy and better value in the long run (I also use the lip masks a ton as I live in CO).

The tarte ones are actually decent quality except for maybe one dud shade. And the packaging is beautiful this year!

I love holiday sets and the Sephora Favorite Sets, I look forward to them every holiday season. Even if the value isn’t there I enjoy getting products I haven’t tried or getting a variety of shades of a single product. I’m on a budget and can’t buy that much, but the sets make me feel like I’ve gotten a lot.

Firstly, I love your hubby's editing so funny, and secondly, my lovely, you know how you are over a new Too Faced product, well I am the same with Tarte, and I know that those collections will most likely be featuring on QVC UK as their Christmas gifts, sooo I will probably be purchasing the eyeshadow palettes. That said, I've just caught CT Christmas Collection and it would be really really nice if you could try the eyeshadow palette and the little pop shot thingy's especially in the diamond and emerald shades please, oh and the mascara as well pretty please. Fenty in the past for holidays have been mini. However not last year. The vault with amazing new shades last year was fire even shades ppl have begged them for. Their entire collection this year is so fire 🔥

Andrea Matiliano (I’m not sure I spelled it correctly) did a video about the value of these sets and she said the value they listed for the Tarte 3 palette set was way too high. She figured it up and the $336 value is crazy inflated. Also, the Tarte blush & highlighter palette has a problem: their packaging says u got palette II but it contains the shades from palette I. That’s what people reported in the reviews and it sounds like Sephora is incapable of figuring it out and Tarte has crapped the bed again.

I miss Sephora's curly hair, mascara, and just older style sets. I got the lip set this year and very glad I did. B/c of the pandemic with always wearing a mask, my lip collection NEEDED to be updated. I miss the mascara sets best. They need to bring their big mascara sets back. They aren’t so worth it. They all have same lipstick shades. They have tint sample sizes. I remember when the perfume sampler was 25. Now it’s 40. That’s a climb. Eeek

I really enjoy these reviews of holiday sets. I am so guilty of buying too many because of the cute mini sizes and apparent value...I would absolutely love a video reviewing beauty advent calendars. My mom gifted the Cult Beauty advent calendar last year to me for my birthday in November. There is a thrill that comes with opening up a drawer with a surprise every day in December! It's already sold out this year, which I am so sad about, but it was truly incredible - I still haven't used up all of the products!

I actually really like the Hourglass Phantom lip balms. They are really glossy and smooth and not goopy like the Tarte ones. Also, for a balm they last decently long too. I might pick up that duo during the Sephora sale.

I got that TooFaced Crush Blush and highlight since you’ve recommended that highlight. Let me just say it’s worth it. Beautiful highlight & pigmented blushes ! They’re not flat matte they have a hint of glow that actually reflects light & not texture. Last all day, and the shades are good for everyday. Worth it imo !🙌🏼

Really interested in the Kosas set. All three colours spark joy in me. But I have my eyes set on the hourglass one. And I just can’t justify buying so many blushes. Sigh. I wonder what’s your thoughts on the Merit lipstick set? It’s rare to see a set just containing all of my favourite colours. And the three shades are apparently all new shades. But I’ve never tried Merit before. Three formulas I’ve never tried in three new shades I’ve never seen with a brand i know nothing about is just too big a risk for me to take. But I’m so very very tempted.

I remember the trio from summer fridays selling out fast, mainly because it had iced coffee as a limited edition one. I dont think this one will sell out as fast because it doesnt have a new scent/color

I'd say for the Drunk Elephant set, if a person adds up all the skincare they buy, it comes to the same (possibly more, depending on the items purchase individually). I'd say the DE is a good deal. Great review on the sets overall

I just bought the Tarte Amazonian Clay Collector set, and they are a really nice formula,so soft. Also, the picture does not do the colors justice... very pretty colors. I was buying thinking i would gift two, but I like them so much I'm keeping all 3. 😀 I do agree the value is a bit inflated though I would say maybe worth $150ish so really you are buying 1 getting 2 free.

Laneige tests on animals, so I can't buy it. I bought a Korean brand called Care:nel and I really like it. A lot of people called it a dupe, but I wouldn't know. The products cost less but make my lips feel super soft.

I swatched the Tarte Holiday palette eyeshadows yesterday in Ulta and they are good! Same good formula as the large Maneater palette. The shimmers are bit glittery for me so I think I’ll pass but they are very pretty!

I did recently but the kopari summer scents set of 4, and the Ouai body lotion, body wash and mini body scrub in the St. Barts scent… I have never tried Ouai before but I absolutely love that set! Get those NARS glosses friends if the shades are for you, I have tried about 50 lippies this year and nothing is as smooth and truly non-sticky, unflavored, and unscented as those, they just look great and sophisticated, do wish they would launch some new and cooler shades in those though

Ok so I bought the lawless mini set last week and I don't think it's the best. The applicator barely deposits product on the lips. After using them for a week, I think the Bare Minerals, Laneige, Buxom, Hourglass phantom, Fenty, and even the Ole Hendriksen formulas are all better than the lawless formula. I own three hourglass phantoms...they are bomb.

Many mixed feelings about the Nars lipgloss. They are honestly better than the old formula, it’s less sticky, goes on smoother. They don’t apply very evenly on my lips, the pigmentation is not great which is expected from lipglosses, they disappear very quickly too. They are very very pretty tho. And honestly this set has some of my favourite shades. I tend to use them to prep and moisturize my lips while I’m doing my other makeups because they feel really nice and they give my lips some colour so they don’t look weird. But yeah my biggest issue with them is that they disappear from my lips within the hour. I can still feel my lips moisturizer from them. But the colours are gone. Which is a shame because they have such pretty colours.

I haven't finished watching yet lol but PSA that Sephora has value sets of the Ariana Grande perfumes (which I didn't know they carried until now??). They're all in $72 trio where you get the 3.4 oz (which is normally $70), plus the mini .25 oz (warning that one doesn't have a spray), and a travel spray that's .33 oz!!! Sephora says it's a $185 value and idk about that math but still a good deal imo Ulta offers a similar trio for the same price you just get a lotion instead of the mini .25 oz perfume

I just got the Too Faced Holiday Blush palette and the formulas feel different and the colors DO NOT match the original ones. Velvet crush is my favorite and in the palette it pulls way too peachy

I don't think many of these sets are worth it, as I never like everything in the set and the sizes are smaller.... they are obviously accounting for the extra bag or whatever you get with it. I only ever get the Glow recipe sets and maybe the fenty and benefit ones

To be honest summer fridays lip set and hourglass palette is the only ones worth money! The summer Fridays mini is actually a better deal per oz than buying just one fyi lol I did the math 😂 and you get to try more colors but low risk since they’re sheer. The 3 full size is such a good deal I just don’t love the mint and don’t care for the cherry color 🫠
