I have the laundry bag at 1:46 and it's great! They left out the best part: it zips open at the bottom so you can empty it into a basket or straight into a top-load washer. One of the few organization hacks I actually didn't regret bothering with.

Looked high and low for a foot locker style trunk to store my daughter's dress up clothes. kzbin.infoUgkxRkkpE1_3gMEZ2mPhAt6b2moNCUXyH8tG I had one growing up that I stored my Barbies in and wanted something sturdy like that for her costumes. This arrived really, really quickly and is exactly what I've been looking for. Perfect size, color (pink) and has stood up for nearly a year so far against my kids using it as a chair, stage, and barricade (😬) to keep each other out of their rooms. I'm probably going to order another one for my daughter's Barbies.

Celia Goldberg yes they did have access to it. I just think the loft beds were enough fun for them and they just didn’t bother with the shelf. They did try to climb a regular shelf one time bc I kept trying to find places for the beta fish tank. That one didn’t work. They like to take it out and think it would play with them and then when they new something was wrong they would start crying. Unfortunately the last time I didn’t get home in time. On a funny side not one cat would sleep with one daughter basically on her head and the other cat with my other daughter at side. You have to bring your bike inside so you do what you have to to keep it safe and have as much room in those tiny apartments. @Nichole A 1. clean the tires 2. remove them but kinds of defeat the purpose. @kez kezooie A quality bike $1500.00(Not for everybody) and up are super light! Anyhow, supervisor is trying to be more popular, and is genuinely impressed such a young woman is so enthused abt minimalism, as the supervisor is a longtime devotee of Marie. Until the day the supervisor, trying to appear compassionate, takes some chicken soup to the invalid worker's place...and the worker's apartment is like this one! "But, ba, um, ba, bu...., I thought you said you were a minimalist?" "Oh, I *am*!" You should have seen this place before I de-cluttered!"

@teresacarle2944 жыл бұрын
@@mandaJt Why do ppl object to IKEA? Elitist snobbery for the most part😉. There are those amongst us who wholly dismiss mass produced design. Plus, those who believe🌲wood is the holy grail. Does this giant make perfect furniture? No. Do their designs appeal to everyone? No. They do have some very clever products. Some of their stuff is clearly better quality than others. Even more of their "hacked" items make significant improvement on a variety of their factory goods. Particle board or not, some of their stuff can take years of abuse & not crumple. Plus, they have good ideas for lay-outs, multi-purpose zones & storage, especially in a smaller footprint. Their prices are mostly affordable. 💰Not many of us can afford to pay for carpentry or millwork. Personally, I'm on the frugal side. Not 100% into the Swedish design, but there are elements of Skandi Style that has my full approval👌. In the end, I would rather source out a vintage piece @ a garage sale, charity shop, flea market or even save something from the curb. It's almost🕵️♀️criminal what American's put in our landfills🗑. It's highly sustainable design to save outdated, but basically solid pieces. ♻️Most items simply need a little ingenuity & care. Some ppl are weird about cast-offs. They only want new things. 🛠 Or, they can't be bothered with DIY. 🤗 However much ppl continue to mock & disdain them, IKEA is clearly doing fine. They have a strong niche in the world market 🌐. That's the beauty of having a choice. If it's not your bag, I suggest that ppl just move on. I don't understand the bashing. Blessings, ☮💛🌼

I rarely access them and I've started bringing them out every so often and just chucking, seliing and donating much of what's in them as I haven't had any use for whatever it is. It is good for blankets etc during summer and occasionally I find something that's useful, but mostly it is just stuff I could have gotten rid of ages ago. Anar Zaitoon solution is to realize that stuff is not contributing to your happiness or ease of living. Having space, freedom and real deep meaningful connection with each other does.

I for one do not support Ikea because of their social and political stance so I would appreciate ideals/tips from companies other than Ikea!

K Maye I don’t support them for the furniture that falls apart after a year and can’t be moved because it’s made of particle board. More junk for our landfills as if there isn’t enough already.

I see some neat storage ideas but no hacks!
@crowgrl137 жыл бұрын
A lot of these are impractical in apartments, which is the type of place you need storage.

Yes, I agree. Suspending things from ceilings is also something you have to know how to do properly or you can either bring a ceiling down and/or get brained by whatever you've suspended falling on your head.

Make no mistake about it- The "DIY" radiator cover is insanely expensive (unless your a gifted carpenter with all sorts of tools and a workshop).

I built a nice open airy shelf over a radiator using stuff I found at habitat for humanity.

Shoe storage idea is nice but would get dusty

The tank top storage tip is one I've used for years and really does save space. It's no good for any tops other than knit materials though or you'll get really badly wrinkled tops. How she can say that the pegboard shoe rack is more attractive than the more conventional one shown is beyond me though. It may give you more floor space but it's certainly not neater looking. As to storing my external hard drive under my desk using just velcro - no. Just no. Velcro really doesn't hold well enough in that position for me to trust it. Vertically on a wall perhaps but horizontally, no.

Yeah, that pegboard one got me too. The fact that she said it was more attractive than the more conventional shoe storage made me roll my eyes. How is looking at the worn and dirty soles of shoes in any way attractive?
