It is bigger than the Moman TR-1 mini base, but it can spread wider, allowing more stability for busy areas where someone might hit the camera accidentally.

Eh, I'll stick with my Moman (that you tipped me off to). The flexibility to add free weights to the legs is an indispensable feature for me. It not only keeps it stable when stationary, but it also acts somewhat as a counterweight when I fully extend my 3 meter carbon fiber monopole so I can have more control over the camera's motion.

professional photographer Sam Rohn uses it for product shots with the THETA Z1. However, the THETA cameras are lighter than a DLSR. I have not tested it with a DSLR. The base is wide, but low. You need to use a monopod. IMO, if you are using a heavy DSLR, a standard larger tripod may be better.

I don't recommend the monopod I am using. It is a Koolehaoda Professional 65 inch aluminium monopod available for $48. It works, but I would spend about $50 more and get a carbon fiber one. I have no experience with the Leofoto MP-364C or the Leofoto MP-366C, but I would look at that. If you are just getting started and want to get something at lower cost, the Koolehaoda at $48 does work. However, I strongly recommend you put a baseball bat weight on the base. You can find some weights a sporting goods shop for about $10. If you have a base already, the Koolehaoda would work. I believe that Sam Rhon is using the Leofoto GO-125 stick which is $95.

@@zzkzine2212 I am thinking of getting the 6 section Leofoto which I could then put in my backpack. I am hoping that the carbon fiber offers more rigidity than my current aluminum monopod. I'm pretty frugal, but in this case, I just needed a little bit more functionality in the monopod. Good luck with your equipment search.
