I really appreciate you taking the extra time to vid and edit your work. True craftsmanship in action with great attention to detail. Thank you! (The blue paint color has grown on me.)

Thank you very much! I am really digging the blue also. Yeah, it's a bit of a pain to put these together but... ...wait for it... ...I think I'm getting better!...

Always thought there was a screen of some sort in the sump. Maybe on the types that have a tube.

Most engines have a coarse screen at the pump pickup. Thanks for watching!

This is a well made and informative video- big thanks for making it! I've been researching for an upcoming prop strike AD project. I thought I'd read Lycoming specifies installing the crank gear dry (no oil / lube) and the bolt is to be lightly coated with food grade anti-seize. Looks like you have a different approach. Not sure which way to go- I'd appreciate your insight / comment. Thanks again!!

Glad it was helpful! Refer to Lycoming Service Bulletin 475 , 533, and the Direct Drive Overhaul Manual. Thanks for watching!

Try a heat gun to loosen any adhesive or goo...

Question Is it more important to hear the music? Or Is it more important to listen to you? CUT OUT THE MUSIC
@HangaRatz2 ай бұрын
Yes, I understand. However, half the folks prefer it and half the folks don't. I'm stuck in the middle. I alternate music on and off on videos. Thanks for watching!

On the oil pump installation housing it doesn't look like your safety wire was installed with a positive application, why is that. I've been a&p for almost 40 years and always you install safety wire with a positive pulling technique.
@HangaRatz Жыл бұрын
Because the safety wire routing is dependent on the holes in the studs you may end up with a neutral installation. Thanks for watching!
