I really enjoy these engine build videos. I’m an owner, but would like to get my A&P.

Go for it! Most importantly keep a log of your activities. FAA will be looking for rationale for experience hours. Thanks for watching!

Question May or may not be answered. But what are the go and no go valve clearance measurements?

I try not to include any pertinent dimensions in my videos. Those items need to be retrieved from the appropriate manuals. Thanks for watching!

I really enjoy your videos. I'm an equipment mechanic not an A&P and I have an 0-360 in my Osprey 2. I'm curious what was wrong that made that valve cover not just push right tight in place... I noticed you pulled it up into gasket contact with the cap screws.

It was a tight fit because of either the rocker shaft wasn't perfectly centered or the plastic caps that go on the ends of the rocker arm shaft. I expect that it was mainly the plastic caps since they were new. Shortly after the engine is runs for a bit everything will find its happy place there's tons of thermal expansion and vibration out there as you get further from the center line of the engine. I haven't worked in an engine shop, but I think the plastic caps shrink as they age. I've pulled them out of old engines cracked and in pieces before too.

The rocker shaft was not in the exact center. I had to nudge it a bit when I installed the cover. Thanks for watching!
