Nice Job Great tips my 1st go on narrow or wide was Allen Socket Heads, oh other than 2 more jugs you could mention the 540's having basically the same ID tips, There a few of us out Here that really enjoy your Pwr.Plant builds. That lyc. Single Mag.was a disaster IMO.

How about some Continental stuff for a change-? I dont like Lycoming engines. WHAAAT-! One has to remove the prop to change an alternator belt. Not so in a Continental. More camshaft lobes/lifter faces, rust/spalling in Lycs due to their high mounted camshafts. Conts. are lo mounted cams and have that oIl drip effect from the crankshaft which staves off rust for a longer period. Disassembly of most Lyc case halves is reqd. in order to replace lifter bodies while disassembly is not required on most Conts. for lifter body replacement. Most Lycs are a heavier engine than a Cont. The fuel induction pipes in Lyc engs run thru the oil sump which prevents ice formation but also contributes to vapor lock when starting a hot engine. Lyc engines use an idler gear between the crankshaft gear and the camshaft gear. Continentals do not need an idler gear to drive the camshaft from the crankshaft. A&P / IA.

It's a Chevy/Ford thing. Hoping to have a TCM engine build in the near future!
