After years of being told "You can't do it." I made my first hand crafted sword. The 'Father's Sword of Conan The Barbarian. Though it took a lot of trail and error to create the goat's head cross guard out of wax and to cast it and melt the steel, I finally completed it and it now hangs on my wall with shiny pride. I now know what hobby I would like to do when I retire and am close to me end. I am now a sword lover more than ever before and look forward to when I can make more.

Great work! That's a great sword to make. :D

Yeah. I was happy to see it finished, though I would love to make it again with the knowledge I gained through experience. Seems like the sword market will always be around and I would love to become a designer later on.

How does Valyrian Steel compare to Albion swords, Michael and what type of steel is it? Some of their swords are stainless which was disappointing to me :( I own quite a few swords myself from Citadel, Albion, Darksword Armory, Ritter Steel, Cold Steel & Windlass Steelcrafts and all good in each their ways ... well mine are at least! :D

old comment but Ice is 1060 high carbon steel. full tang. heat treated. i questioned the website myself and they answered my questions.

Wow... Ice is truly epic. Hadn't realized it was quite that large. The craftsmanship of these modern replicas is amazing- they just keep getting better and better. I subscribe to quite a few blacksmith's channels. Always thought that would be something I'd love doing given the chance (and the money... and the time). I highly recommend Freerk Wieringa's channel- a blacksmith that does his own pieces based on historic (and fantasy) inspiration. Really great to turn on and just sink into watching his craft and process.

I knew it was huge, but much like the Flagg, nothing can prepare you for the reality. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check out Freerk's channel. Blacksmiths; warrior artists who use iron and steel instead of paint. :D

I wonder if they based it on the size of the Wallace sword?
@MichaelMercy6 жыл бұрын
My bro has the Wallace sword too and ICE dwarfs it. It only looks big because Mel is tiny. :D
