360 VIEW SHALLOW PLANTED TANK WITH WATERFALL, COLD MIST, AND NO SOIL

This was most certainly the most challenging build for Balazs in 2020. The setup of this rectangular-base 360° view shallow tank posed a real technical challenge with three waterfalls and with cold mist rolling down on the Dragon Stone cliffs to the water surface. We only used the plants from Dave Chow's old tank that we just took apart. There was no soil added to this build, so we went all-in for an epiphyte-plants only planted tank! We are kinda' happy with the result. Are you too?

I like the structure but personally I'd lose the "volcano" mist. Too tricky. Still, looking forward to seeing it grow out. Maybe then I'll change my mind about the mist. Is the monte carlo just tucked into crevasses or is it attached? I assume attached (glued) or else it would float???

Yeah, let's see how it evolves, I kinda' like the idea of having some movement above the water asides the waterfall... Some monte carlo is just placed in the cracks, but some are glued with Seachem Reef Glue - especially at the bottom of the rocks, or horizontal parts...

The dragon stone is very difficult to wash and fix to each other, but the result is always great. fog in the aquarium adds mystery if it is poorly illuminated in the evening. Very cool work, thank you.

Very good to see another way of building an aquascape even if it isn't very practical for a typical home setup. The end result is interesting, but possibly it needs more of a focal point. I"m guessing that the inspiration may be prints and watercolors of Chinese rivers with impossibly tall columns of craggy stone, and this idea is carried out really well.
