Do the wash and style method and then after that use a pomade and use a plastic bag to lay your hair down

Can anybody help me pls? When ever I brush my hair gets lifted up and I don’t see my waves not more I use the plastic bag and double compress and when I Ibrahim the waves aren’t there. I only see my waves after my wash n style. Do s anyone know how I can avoid my hair lifting up too much so that when I unravel I can see my progress? Pls.
