I can do 2 with the grain if I have woofed for 6 weeks . It gives me depth and keeps my hair dark . This is good for you if you are a course hair waver and don’t have thick hair

I'm a coarse hair waver and I just got my last cut a 2 w/ the grain after a 1.5 w/ the grain 2 weeks prior to that. The 2 wtg had me in the game frfr! waves polished and depth shown, not to mention it just looks a lot better being that dark. The 1.5 shows some scalp. I'm sticking w/ the 2 wtg from here on out. but ive also been waving for 2 years so it could be that my hair is just trained and doesn't need to be that short to show progress

I just cut my hair two weeks ago with a 1 guard and the blade open and it didn't cut enough. So I will put it halfway now and see if it will give me a closer cut, if I don't like it I will close the blade all the way and even it out. Thanks for the info. My hair is coarse but it get real thick. I could probably use a 0 guard open and it would look much better than a 1 but I want to try the 1 closed first.

I mean it’s been 8 months, and you should probably know the answer by now but I’m going tell you anyway. It varies from what guards you’re using. See wahl’s seniors and andis masters both have 1 guards but the wahl’s guard could come out higher than the andis. Even though they’re both the same guard. So it really depends on what guard it is or what brand it is. ✊🏾

Listen coarse wavers......If u use a 2 guard cut against the grain. Do not use a 1 with the grain u will loose progress especially if ur hair not dense. You gotta know how dense ur hair is. The older u are the less dense ur hair. Every coarse hair can not use a 1 with the grain. If u struggle with ur deph... This is the reason why. Trust me.
