Well - firstly, on the unusual opening doors - I have patio doors exactly the same and they are brilliant! Save space and open up better than bi-fold. Secondly, your reviews just get better and better Nick. Your unique 'take' on every little thing with comedic quips here and there just make these reviews unmissable. In my opinion, you are the best presenter of anything on KZbin......Happy New Year to you

Hi Nick, another great thing about your channel, is that is regularly encourages me to look up the boat builder’s website and have a closer look at their specifications, floor plans and other models. Haines build some nice boats indeed. I used to own an aft cabin boat, and particularly like the rear lower stateroom that Haines builds in some of its boats. Their price point is also much more within the reach of regular folks. What a charming boat to end the year on. Well done and here is one final congratulations on your work in 2024. (sometime, tell us how you lost weight! It’s the new year and we will all be boarding that bandwagon)

Happy holidays, Nick! The quality of the Haines 36 Offshore shines through, for a couple's 1st real boat or for their last. The galley down gives the boat a certain panache, while still able to engage in a conversation with the person at the helm. It appears that lockers in the master cabin don't have a top on them therefore, allowing natural sunlight in from the windows above, and great ventilation. Also the perfect spot for a fire extinguisher, between the helm and the helm seat in its own cubbyhole. I noticed most fire extinguishers on boats are usually located in one of the hanging lockers down below, which of course is kinda inconvenient especially if you have a fire in a galley up situation. To sum it up, if you don't mind me absconding with one of your quotes... "a proper little ship"

hi Nick, I’ve not been commenting recently because I’ve not been too well, I’m lucky to still be here at 80 years old but a happy chap. I love these relatively low cost boats because they represent something that had I started being interested in votes, younger I would’ve been able to afford. Thanks for a fantastic review, I really appreciate that despite it being a cheaper boat you do not ski pond detail which is highly commendable. All the best to you for 2025, and thank you for all the pleasure you’ve given me in 2024, cheers Peter Solihull.

I am bemused by the absence of a quicker access, even partial, to the Engine(s). For such a handsome practical craft that seems a remarkable oversight. Would still love one, though. This or a Targa would be my choice to pootle back and forth across the North Channel.

Love these reviews of real boats for real people. I love super yacht reviews, but these are far more interesting. Frankly if I was going to get a super yacht I'd hire a good captain and let him choose. It would take years to learn how to run one of those. I could learn this. I just wish we had an Aquaholic in the US to show us American boats. We build a lot of boats but there isn't a lot of info on them. Is a Tiara better than a Scout or a Cruisers?

Except for engine access I like this. This 1 cabin design would make an acceptable live aboard for holidays/vacations, if you tend to stay in marinas. Engine access would be bearable if you lose the carpet and go with different flooring, which may be the way it's designed, carpet just for boat show.

@AQUAHOLIC15 сағат бұрын
And yet some of us without generators struggle manfully through regardless... 😄
@mrshort237918 сағат бұрын
I like it allot really. however, I think it is missing some accoutrements for an offshore boat, like twin engine ips, generator/solar power, water maker, gyro etc. etc. you would think a boat with offshore in its title would have those features as a standard, not optional, if at all optional. just saying but I do like it even if it is set up like a fresh water run about lake/river boat

I appreciate it might be just me that it bugs, but why oh why do people slant their VHF antennas? It ruins their performance as half the signal is going up in the air instead of to the horizon - worse on a powerboat where the bow might rise under acceleration. Maybe it's the radio ham in me... 😁

I've always wondered , with todays tech , why no one has come up with an idea to run a microwave for obviously a limited time under the boats batteries ? Surely there nust be a solution ?
@normanboyes498311 сағат бұрын
There is.
@johnsteinmetz40002 сағат бұрын
While this boat is described as "offshore" and practical it seems to be missing some key features found in orher boats of the same size. Requiring shore power to use the microwave is not very practical. Also I heard no mention of air conditioning. For example a Regal 36 sedan
@jamessullivan516818 сағат бұрын
I was really impressed with the boat until you showed the access to the engine. That's an awful lot to go through to do a daily engine check. There needs to be a simpler way. Also, changing engines or doing major work looks like you'd have to dismantle the entire cabin.
@NorthernContrarian18 сағат бұрын
Modern boats aren’t meant to be anything but buy and throw away. Like electric cars they’re disposable items. No one who’s a proper sea goer would ever put their money in these. There’s a reason almost all boats used professionally are made from steel or aluminium.
