Even tho the lock can be picked ......I still LOVE this design. I have never heard of this design before. I like how compact it is. So much better than that dam cable I have wrapped around my seat. I am definitely going to get me one for my bike. Thanks for sharing.

I looked at the reviews of people who bought it, and there is a lot of: "great design, but too cheaply made; parts fall off of it easily, like the lock cover" I've found it for sale for as little as 28.00 US. still, the company does honor its warranty, and apparently will send you a new lock if the one you have breaks. and for 28 bucks? that's still quite a useful bike lock. interestingly shows none available on Amazon, but this place says it has them: www.gearbest.com/other-accessories/pp_286706.html never bought anything from them before, so buyer beware etc.

I bought one of these in Japan, branded as a Proloop "Muffin," about 10 years ago. The plastic cover fell off but it otherwise has worked great! I love how small it is; I can literally throw in my jacket pocket or the water bottle pocket of a bag.

Seems like a good option. Pickable, indoors where you can position the look as you want/need. But a bike thief in the streed I think it is to time cunsuming and fuzza. They go to another bike. So the looks seems very good in that aspect. Does not to be pick-proof. Just "to much work" or "to slow to open".

So I went to the tension wrenches that came in that kit and that's when I discovered that one. So I want to thank you for the review you did on them or I wouldn't have them. But anyway couldn't you use that hole to tension it to begin with?

@Shtormuotojas

Also the plastic faceplate is fragile, if it breaks, there will be no way to attach it to the bike, and the arms wont stay folded in, which makes its convenience of only needing the key to unlock, become a huge drawback. ...also the bike holder for it is make of easily bendable metal, which makes it rattle loudly. so yeah, its a nice lock, but if you use it more than once a day, it wont hold long. mine lasted about 6 months

How hard would it be to break this lock open? It seems like the flat-ness of this design would mean you could stick a prybar or a pipe in there and twist it right off. Otherwise it looks like a pretty cool lock. Even with the right equipment and skills tube locks are a pain to pick through. Slick design too.

I suppose that depends on how willing you are to damage the bike.

GAWD DAMN!! Was looking at this on Amazon and Ebay, I can't believe how easily it's defeated! guess I'll just carry around the bag for my folding bike and take it into stores, no point in locking it up outside for someone to steal anymore. =)

Remember that he's an experienced picker in a workshop with good lighting, a full set of picks, and all the time in the world. Your standard bike thief has none of that.

@@jic1 Good point! Actual thieves would have at best a hammer, an arm and barely enough time to wack at a lock a few times before bolting lol ;)
