Amazing! I've never even heard of yarn braids/twist until literally ten minutes ago! I think it's the perfect solution for someone who doesn't desire locs (but would like to see what they might look like) and for ppl (like me) who can't afford synthetic hair that won't break hair off. Thanks so much for your information!! :D

Welp, you've convinced me to give yarn braids/twists a shot! I've only just learned of this style yesterday and at first I thought "WHAT. YARN?? EWWWW". xD I assumed it would look horrible and fake! Now I know better and am completely intrigued. My curls naturally shrink up to half their size; I miss having long hair and really need to experiment with protective styles vs. wash-n-go's. Thanks for sharing your wealth of information and experiences with us and your pleasant personality! :)

How can I find acrylic yarn that’s slender and curly enough to make the hair look like sista locs? I LOVE yarn twists and braids!!!

Thanks for this video....it was so informative. I've had yarn twist in my hair once back in 2009 and absolutely loved it, but had some questions about the effects on my hair and was wondering if anyone else did and apparently so, 'cos your video answered every single question I was wondering about. :0). Thanks so much!

Your hair looks great! Do you still use the Kalpi Tone? If so, how often do you apply it?

Hello! New subbie here. Love your video(s) Miss Lady, please keep' em coming! I don't know if this had been answered already, but using WOOL (or any Natural Fiber) will felt with your hair, that's why synthetic fiber (acrylic yarn) is best with installing yarn twists. Wool yarn is great to use if you plan on putting in yarn twists and leaving them in permanently to start locks. Take Care!

You're so easy to watch. Very likable, too. Thank you for this vid. It answered a lot of my questions. I was trying to decide between twists or braids. Now, I'm about 95% sure I'm gonna go with the twists. Although I like the appearance of the braids more (and they frizz less), twists *are* easier...putting in and taking out (I have hair past APL so this reallllly matters). And besides, they are still cute. So, yea, thanks! BTW, subbed! :)

Another question (sorry), do the ends snag on clothes? I have Havana twists in, which I burnt (I have a video on this), and I found that the ends snagged on some clothes.

Hi, I'm thinking about getting some yarn twist. Is burning the ends necessary when sealing the yarn? Can you just knot it and dip the ends in boiling water?
@jackiethomas393811 жыл бұрын
Ive done the yarn braids several times. This was the best time though because its at the end of 5 weeks and they still look great. I hate to take them down. What is the longest I can safely get away with leaving them in? (aside of them getting too fuzzy)

I'm locking my hair with long yarn braids. I was very against that method (for my own hair journey) a few months ago. Then I started getting bored with my short babydreads & itching for new styles &length. I ended up with these beautiful yarn braids! I just can't seem to find anyone using them to loc their hair???
@breeannrials329311 жыл бұрын
I know you said dipping isn't necessary, but will the yarn bleed if I did? I've heard this and I was wondering if the same went for washing,I have two colors in so I really need to know this

@nappyscribe19875 жыл бұрын
ChunkyFatGirl you can loc it with yarn. Just don’t take it out. Wool locs quickly but I’m afraid of it because it could catch fire.
