37. PortableLayout - pt 3 - Joining Modular baseboards

From across the pond. I built two staging yards for the Freemo N layout used for the Operations Road Show clinics at this summer's NMRA national convention in Grapevine, TX. I used a very similar construction system for those modules using mostly 5.2 mm luan plywood for the module boxes. I also used alignment pins made out of one inch diameter aluminum tubing that is intended for shower curtain rods in the US. The modules went together splendidly at the show. I had a bit of rail damage, but i think that may have been because of bad handling of the modules when they were un-racked.

So with me in an Ikea shelf 10ft in length 1'-9"in breadth 1'-6" in hight.bHave fun! I decided to switch to an only bogie layout with a tram chassis like design on Peco OO9 track, using Kato Motor Chassis and for finescale purposes I lifzed the scale up in 7mm/ft to make use of the limited space I do have got. So I am dammnated to scratchbuilding... 😜

Thanks, the dcc concepts dowels were quite easy, there is a lot of editing involved to cut down a few days work into one video 😊

This looks like what I need. So, I just went in search of the alignment dowels and found them on ebay for AU$36, Which seems like a reasonable price. But then I see that the postage to Australia is AU$ 57 (this is for the dowels only, no drill bits), which is absolutely ridiculous for four small aluminum items.
