Sean, Gord’s cottage is in the Haliburton vicinity. Those last rains and above freezing temps we had in eastern Ontario were mostly snow and cold on the west side of a lineline running from the east side of Toronto northeast through Bancroft. On the west side of that line, it was either snow or a snow/rain mix. That cold/warm line ran from Toronto due south through the US. The western part of Pennsylvania was all snow, with rain in the east. It was colder in northern Florida’s on Christmas Eve and Day than it was in the whole eastern part of Canada. Strange weather indeed!

It's just one of those things you learn, snowblower or frontloader (if you have a rear mounted, forward facing snowblower). Even better trick is to cut those trees down in the summer/fall, you'll have firewood for the upcoming winter AND won't have to step out of the tractor when clearing snow :)

I see a well placed scabbard on the Kubota and a small quantity of bar oil, fuel, scrench, and a file on board. Heck why stop there, bring a coffee pot and toaster oven. Awesome set up I did see clamp on scabbards somewhere on the internet. They go on the loader supports. Beautiful video thanks for posting. There are three kinds of people one complains how the weather is destroying the driveway, the second complains about how long it took someone to do all that work when the bill comes, and third what a great opportunity to spend some time outdoors enjoying the task at hand. I like your enthusiasm. On another note I put my dad's Kubota RTV to the test last weekend I'll try to get some video up. I was stunned at what it pulled. Probably 6 to 7k including the weight of the log trailer up hill. I wasn't even going to try it and thought I'll see how far it gets. It really didn't complain just walked right up the lawn onto the driveway and out. Amazing little piece of equipment. Happy New Year!

Hi GP. I just realized that you have a new tractor and a new Snowblower. I missed the transition to the new equipment. This video highlights the good and bad with a cab. If all you had was a roll bar, you could go under/thru some of those low hanging branches. But with the cab, you have to take the time to get them out of the way so not to damage your cab. Hopefully you only have to clear the trees and branches out one time per season if you have a big storm. I love your videos and hints & tips. Stay Safe my friend.

Great job on the video edit. Good to see you improvise as you go, and adapt when you need to. When you're out clearing, and trees are coming down, you can't hear the "crack", so the "I shouldn't be out here alone" rings very true. I notice you take a good look around at the trees near you, when you're gonna start chainsawing.....well done.

Although by the end of the year I am looking to really NOT be moving snow anymore on a good snow year I get up to 60 hours in the cab moving snow and just about never less than 40 hours, by Spring I am ready to do something else with the tractor!
