SVS speakers and subs are totally worth the money. Piano black has a classy look. I would have liked to see this gorgeous setup in a dedicated theatre room as opposed to a living room. Dark gray walls, black ceiling and professional acoustic panels as opposed to less costly FOAM accompanies the speaker quality better.

At this point, do you truly notice the difference from adding this many speakers? Do you notice the difference between the 9 main speakers you have as opposed to if you only had 7? Do you notice a major difference between the 6 ceiling speakers as opposed to if you only had 4? I’m no cinemaphile so I wouldn’t know. (No hate, genuinely curious) Thats a fantastic looking system.

I expect that room wasn’t really big enough to get the benefit of so many speakers. 7.2.4 probably would have sounded very similar. But if he’s moving to a larger place it may be better suited. Remember the quality of speakers and electronics is more important than number of speakers, so even 5.1 can sound fantastic with great equipment.

This was pretty much my first system about 2 years ago. I was rocking Ultra everything when it was announced. I had PB13's at the time, they didn't have the 16's yet. It was decent for movies....but there is a whole other world out there. Also, SVS ultra towers are only 88db effecient and peak at about 300watts, they will always be behind your subs in output. The front stage is the only real weakness in this setup, the ultra center is junk, could never hear a damn thing coming out of it. People who are freaking out at 38k haven't been in audio very long. That isn't that much money, most have that much in amplifiers. Home theater is relatively cheap compared to high end music setups. Good luck in 2020!

ALR screen. thats why. The rule of painting your room black really only applies to white or gray screens that are not alr. they bounce light back into the room. Black diamond alr has layers of optics that really only bounce the image back from the position of the pj and not onto the walls or ceiling
@todddirando15754 жыл бұрын
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Thanks for the response. I guess i worded my comment wrong. I wasnt just refering to the reflection from the screen, i meant overall. I have a dedicated home theater room myself and i drywalled over the 2 windows that were there. I have an ALR screen as well but i still went with flat black ceilings and trim and dark maroon walls and dark carpet. All my main and surround speakers are flushed in the wall at ear level, then i have 2 front height speakers flushed in the wall on both sides of the screen and a total of 12 dolby atmos speakers at a 55 degree angle above the 4 black recliners and the 3person black recliner/couch that is on a raised platform. The dark colors just give a much more immersive experience with the dolby atmos than light colors. Just my opinion though

whats size you think this room is?

Yes

Dumb question maybe but that center looks kind of small to compete with that huge front soundstage & subs. Does it cut through enough to your satisfaction?
@mikesaintjulesmusic4 жыл бұрын
Center should be fine. Usually it's more for People speaking. I'd say more in a Mono fashion.
@ThatHomeTheaterDude4 жыл бұрын
the center size is fine. you mainly get voice from it and surround effects blend seamlessly
@AeroDude734 жыл бұрын
That Home Theater Dude well yea, I Know what a center does. lol. It just looks so small amongst the other multiple front speakers.

Love the setup, but damn that is overkill for that room in my professional opinion. I have a similar setup, but my room is much bigger, less cluttered with speakers. His choice, so no hate for that. Take the $38K and build an addition then setup this. But since you are moving, hopefully you have a huge room for that setup. The neighbors gotta hate you unless you live way out lmao. Anyway, keep up the good content

Nothing but respect for anyone out there passionate and optimizing their setup. BUT, I do find it so perverse when I continually see 10's of thousands of dollars invested on setup in an open room floorplan with windows, hard wood floor, etc etc. $100 spent on foam panels. Couldn't agree more, spend 10k on a room and 20k on a setup. Imagine the poor bastards that have to turn their head 90° while sitting on those couches.
@ThatHomeTheaterDude4 жыл бұрын
dude this is a living room. Most people dont have the space to do a proper hometheater space. Im just showing what i did to give ideas. The couches are for us to sit in a different spot. Usually we lay down on them and we are not 90 Also the foam isnt cheap www.soundassured.com/collections/special-acoustic-foam-bundles/products/that-home-theater-dude-acoustic-foam-bundle

Personally its far too much equipment. Completely throws off the aesthetics.

I have same setup except instead of tower its ultra Bookshelfs and for wides went with prime sats matching ceiling mounted prime elevations, with dual sb-4000s. I thought I wanted the towers still kinda do but room is to small and I like the sleek look. Sounds amazing,

No, it's definitely NOT bragging. Why, having the price you paid for all of it IN THE TITLE told me there would be no bragging whatsoever in the video. And then breaking down each part of the room into their separate dollar amounts, that's a hallmark of humbleness. I would say this is the most low-key, non-bragging video about a rich guy wanting me to know how much money he can spend that I've ever seen. Well done. Pat yourself on the back. With an axe.

Why. did you click on the video? to complain? Do you find yourself often complaining about things? Perhaps look inward vs outward

38k for a 9.2.6 and not a single seat on the center of the room? Thats like buying a Ferrari and tow it instead driving.
@rewris4 жыл бұрын
the room is also tiny, so it's clearly overkill every which way you cut it but it's admittedly the best part of the hobby.
@yahahaa1125 жыл бұрын
why did you go for Piano gloss though? It's reflective and nasty - it would drive me mad trying to watch a film with relfections kicking around the whole room. Maybe go for B&Ws next time, real wood, non-glossy models.
@ThatHomeTheaterDude5 жыл бұрын
i have them setup to where you dont see reflections at the MLP... Piano gloss isnt nasty, i think its classy
