PHIL!!!! Yes, of course we remember you, you were our biggest supporter back when we first started, often wonder what happened to you (literally two days back thought of you), was worried Covid got ya!!!! Great to know your okay and getting back into the game! So we also have dwarf pencils since this video took place, LOVE THEM! Going to try and do a video on breeding them for sure!!

@Aquadiction nice to here from you. Pleased you're still going strong.Circumstances meant I had no fish for a while but have gone bit mad lately and set up 6 small tanks with nano species mostly blue eyes species which I've always loved so far and some pygmy and habrosus corys.Have the pencils on order probably be the new year before they come.Really enjoying being back in the hobby and catching up on you tube channels.Stoked when I found you again always loved your species spotlights.Give my regards to your good lady I'm really impressed by your videos,you'll be making films next,Have a top Xmas and all the best for the new year.

@@Philip-qx3he Nice man, glad to hear you are back in the hobby, ill pass on your regards! Shes still doing the spotlights so always more to come, did you see the one of the coral red pencils? Stunners! Have one in the works for the hokeystick pencils next I think, or very soon! Appreciate ya man, glad you found us again!!!

@Aquadiction didn't see the coral one have to chase it up.They are stunning.ive got rainbows, threadfin, gertrudae,luminatus and furcatus a few pygmy and habrosus cory plus 8 ember tetras.Got the dwarf pencils on order.Just keeping nano fish due to the small tanks I have.Looking to set up maybe 1 more as a rasbora tank for some galaxy and chilli and kubotai in future.

@Philip-qx3he can’t beat nano fish, sound like nice little setups, did you go planted?
@craigsmart19866 күн бұрын
This looks nicer than my high tech aquarium with co2, fertilizer and high spec light.
@Aquadiction6 күн бұрын
Really? That's really surprising, I mean I guess it depends on what plants your keeping? We did our big 450ltr this way as well, example kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaDdYX-cebSkrrc I think that's maybe the most impressive! (just a screen saver video, we will do a full build video on it once we get to the year mark, think that's at 6 months now) Appreciate the comment bud!!

That was an absolutely brilliant video. I loved the documenting over time the process with its ups and downs and the humor 😂 good stuff. In the end that tank looks absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to see the next one 😁
@Aquadiction6 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for the comment buddy, means allot coming from you as you are the king of dirtied tanks on KZbin! Do you think the blackworm might be worth trying on one of your setups?
@pattys_aquatics6 күн бұрын
@ your too kind😁 as far as the black worms I think it could work but would need to add them before fish so they could get ahold in the tank before fish ate them all

Thanks for the comment buddy! Yea love them, bit of a pricey fish but for the 3 years we have had them we have found them to be very hardy, so not a huge risk to buy from that point of view :)

"There's also some fish in here" was hilarious after seeing you pop that packing material ebay sent you:) I must say I've never seen duckweed removed via wet/dry vac - that's a new one for me. Hoping I never have to try it. Lovely video, great humor, beautiful tank!

I had to edit the bubble wrap bit and cut it down to 20 seconds, I was there for a good hour popping away before I remembered the fish haha (jokes) Thanks for the comment and your continued support Viki :)

It's gorgeous 😍. Ya know I think anubias barteri nana was my favorite plant.
@Aquadiction6 күн бұрын
anubias barteri nana is 100% a great choice and I know you got on well with that one! When you get back into the game consider some subwassertang, we ordered some shrimp 8 months back and it had a tiny leaf of subwassertang which we forgot about and it grew into these great balls/clumps that don't fall apart, love it, very easy to grow with zero effort! Appreciate ya bud!

Amazing video... Love the time you put into this and it shows!!! . Sorry about your fish but it happens. Your aquarium looks so lush and has filled in so nicely .. I just love crypts. Going to get more . I have always wanted some flying fox I use American flag fish for hair and string algae
@Aquadiction6 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for the comment Chris, as always we really appreciate you! Yea that was a mare to put together, as you will know yourself editing takes forever and this was a beast, I nearly checked myself into the nut house several times haha American flag fish are great, for some reason I thought they were banned in the UK but apparently not, def more colourful than the silver flying fox! Thanks again, appreciate ya!!

OMGEEE day 83 is killing me...the Assassin snails "all you can eat spaghetti buffet" and the cries for help from the blackworms 🤣🤣
@Aquadiction6 күн бұрын
I'd NEVER seen anything like this before, I've watched them take down other snails with the proboscis that extends out of their mouth but didn't know they could slurp up things as well, what a way to go!

@Aquadiction I have never seen this before and now fear for any blackworms I have in tanks with my Assassin snails 😳 They are actually carnivores...

Hello, very nice new setup. How many liters / gallons does the tank have ? Is the foam-filter powered by air the only filter ? do you use CO2 ? best wishes Michael from Germany
@Aquadiction6 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question Michael, so these are custom aquariums made to fit our racking exactly, I believe they are around 158 liters! Yes the foam filter is the only filtration used, and no C02 or ferts at all, just the top soil! Hope that helps :)

What lighting are you using??? I've never seen Crypt Balansae go stunning red like that!!!🤩💚🌿👏
@Aquadiction6 күн бұрын
So, for much of the video we were using the fluval eco bright 14w bulb because in the UK for the last few years we have had the highest electricity prices globally, BUT for a few hours here and there each day we were using the amazing Chihiros WRGB II Pro which brings out any hint of red like you wouldn't believe, its am amazing light, just wish they were cheaper to run the way things are! Thanks for your question, hope that helps :) So two lights and why some of the footage looks different to other times!

hi, congrats, you just got another follower snd admirer, im not a eng native and just a big newby in aquatics, could you please tell me names of those 2 red plants, they look incredible, this is with mo Co2 added? what is your water p and hardness? thank you awfuly!
@Aquadiction5 күн бұрын
Hi bud, that's correct no C02, No Ferts just the soil under the sand/substrate! The plants your talking about are Cryptocoryne Wendtii Red and Cryptocoryne balansae! We don't really test our water (old school fish keepers haha) but I went and checked the PH and its 7.8, hardness i'm not sure but I know our water is *very* hard!

helanthium tenelum same as helanthium tenellus/echinodorus tenelus? in your video it look more similar to lilaeopsis brasiliensis 🤔 also there some sagitaria subulata in your tank as well
@Aquadiction6 күн бұрын
Thanks for you thoughts bud! Sadly we are mainly fish people and not what I would consider as knowledgeable about plants (though learning all the time) so we just went with the names they were sold to us as really! Thanks again for the comment, appreciate it!

So we did no water changes over the 380 days and just top off with tap water straight from the tap! For 60% of the time we were using a 14w bulb (because electricity in the UK is insane prices) and a 110W bulb the rest of the time which we would have used the whole time if electric wasn’t an issue! And we used no fertiliser or additives at all! About as low maintenance as you can get! Anymore questions let us know 😊

Mit Ausnahme der Guppys und den Zebrawelsen hast du ja nicht unbedingt Glück gehabt. Die Pflanzen haben sich dem geringeren Licht entsprechend gut entwickelt.
@Aquadiction5 күн бұрын
