I really like that they are leaning heavily into it and seem to be turning up the goofy side of Venom even more. I have always enjoyed the comics where Venom is really goofy. Don't think I have read any where he actually talked to Eddie. Just remember when Eddie used the symbiote to turn into Venom. That it basically meant Venom was in full control and had his own personality. I mean I liked every type of the character but I did grow tired of the dark edgy anti hero version of the character. It made him seem to generic and like any run of your mill anti hero. But the comics that had him be more goofy really helped set him apart and make him unique. So I'm really glad that this film seems to be heavily leaning into that. I mean their dynamic was the highlight of the first film. I would have enjoyed it even without that but having it be in the film really helped it. Would be very hard to have anything interesting if they never talked and when he turned into Venom he was just this angry yelling monster. Plus it makes a lot of sense for the backstory they had with Venom. With him being this outcast.

I really need to catch up with that series been ages since I have last watched it. Think the last thing I remember watching was the DC special they had. Gonna have to rewatch Fumbles because all I can remember is the name but don't recall the actually sketch. One of my favorite moments though was one of their quick throwaway bits they do in between the longer sketches. In which they show a kick boxer with the announcer saying "Were back with the champion Payakaroon a proud Thai Fighter and his opponent is another Thai Fighter. Tie Fighter..

The finger trap in Spiral looked stupid - like it would slip off your fingers straight away. Of all the ways to do a finger trap, it was that? At least the first guy got a bolt through his tongue. They could have at least come up with something better then some thin material that's about to slip off his fingers as soon as he moved. Look at all the past movies for reference. That one trap was just awful.
