38TS shunting at Golders Green end of 1430 run

The London Transport Museum 1938 Stock Train ran on 24 June 2007 as part of the 100 year celebrations.
This is the 38TS shunting from Golders Green at the end of the 14:30 run - I rather like the bracketting by modern stock at the end

I loved the end. Very Father/Son moment and quite humbling too. I miss those trains, the wooden flooring, the air cushioned seats, they were smaller but built for resilience, much like a lot of things back then. The dimmed lighting inside and the dangling holders from the ceiling. What an illustrious past the London Underground possesses.

The driver's wearing a hi-vis vest! On my first day as a bus driver, they expressly forbade that, because the reflections cast on the windscreen can stop you seeing important stuff.

This shot dates me a little. I was brought up on the 1938 stock. But I guess one has to move with the times. At least in my days we ran a 100 such trains in the rush hour. The shunt back into No1 siding was interesting. Do they still stable in the loop at night?
