Whats the difference between transferring FSMO role vs Seizing FSMO roles? secondly if a main DC is damaged/corrupt then how can we seize these roles?

Transfer FSMO when current FSMO master is online, used seize FSMO roles when current FSMO master is permanently offline and not coming back. If Main DC (I am assuming current FSMO master) is down, use the process describe in this video is for FSMO role seizure.

If any of your DC (which is currently holding FSMO role) goes down permanently and in this case, you can not transfer the FSMO role as the current owner DC is down. So to assign the FSMO roles to other DC, you have to seize the FSMO roles first. Then You have to install OS and configure new DC.

Diff between iso image file vs bootable file

ISO image is a single file, using this file you can create a bootable USB drive or create installation DVD (known as an installation media). Both are used for OS installation.

@@karthiraja9990 Generally we used ISO images to boot VMs. But if you want to install OS on physical machine then you have create a bootable DVD disk or USB drive for installation.

@@karthiraja9990 ISO is a single file but when you create a bootable installation media, it extract into the media. There wont be nay changes in ISO image file.
