We spent the duration of the solar eclipse at Mineola capturing many trains. Although it wasn’t a total solar eclipse, it did get 90% covered, and you can detect some dimming of the sunlight. It looks somewhat like an evening sky as opposed to a midday sky. Once the eclipse ended after 4:30pm we headed over to Merillon Avenue and New Hyde Park stations to capture fast trains on the “Triple Track”. We also captured a few heavy planes over the station at New Hyde Park. The sun was much brighter at this time than it was between 230pm and 430pm.
